Welcome to this weeks spec. This is where we pick the winners each week we (or shall I say myself) think will be spec worthy, a great read or just cool looking art on the cover.
Marvel Picks
Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 Facsimile Edition is for those who can’t afford the original, which is out of reach for most. Hey, maybe we can buy a few extra, dig up Steve Ditko, get him to doodle on a acetate cover to attach to them and we can resell as exclusives graded by CGC….. Too soon?
Avengers 1000000 Bc #1 (Horley Variant) for the cover art. I love Horley’s artwork.
Daredevil #2 (Gary Frank Variant) also for the cover as I really dig Gary Frank’s art and covers. It’s not super ground breaking but if you can score for cheap, easy grab I say.
Edge of Spider-Verse #2 (of 5) is just for the sheer potential as you never know which new Spider that gets introduced will take off.
Edge of Spider-Verse #2 (of 5) (Souza Variant)
Edge of Spider-Verse #2 (of 5) (10 Copy Thorogood Design Variant)
Because the Moon Knight fan in my can’t resist.. Ms Marvel and Moon Knight #1
Ms Marvel and Moon Knight #1 (Momoko Variant)
Ms Marvel and Moon Knight #1 (Shalvey Variant)
Star Wars Mandalorian #2 because Kaare Andrews regular cover is just pure awesomness.
Star Wars Mandalorian #2 (Concept Art Variant)
Star Wars Mandalorian #2 (Camuncoli Variant)
Star Wars #26 has a lot of first appearances if you’ve read the spoilers. Will any amount to anything? We’ll just have to wait and see. This is the Skywalker era of story telling, which they’ve done pretty much all they can for shows and movies. So unless these firsts show up elsewhere (which they could), that’s where this one will count.
Star Wars #26 (Sprouse Choose Your Destiny Variant)
DC Picks
Batman One Bad Day the Riddler #1 (Cover A – Mitch Gerads) because I hope it’s as good as The Killing Joke.
Batman One Bad Day the Riddler #1 (Cover C – 1:25 David Marquez Variant)
Black Adam #3 (Cover C – Rahzzah Card Stock Variant) because In Rahzzah We Trust.. right?
Sandman #1 Facsimile is already sold out at TFAW. Great pickup for those who can’t dish out the money for an original and are back on board with the new show.
Indie and Small Publisher Picks
Dark Spaces Wildfire #2 is already selling out at some online shops I’ve checked. I have yet to read the first issue but hoping this is a great read.
Trve Kvlt #1 (Cover A – Liana Kangas) sounds like it might be great entertainment for going number 2. So yes, I’m picking up a copy.
20th Century Man #1 (of 6) (Cover A – Morian) is still spelled wrong at TFAW. So don’t let that fool you that they’re sold out. I got an advanced preview I need to read before it’s released.
20th Century Man #1 (of 6) (Cover B – Kordey)
