#10 IRON MAN #219 | MARVEL | 1987
First up amongst the numerous announcements is the casting of Thunderbolts! The long-anticipated cast and team announcement of Thunderbolts was finally revealed. The group’s core members are Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Ghost, Red Guardian, US Agent, Taskmaster, Winter Soldier, and Black Widow (Yelena Belova). #9 CAPTAIN AMERICA #354 | MARVEL | 1989
Back to the Thunderbolts casting! This issue is back on the collector’s radar. Previously seeing a spike, thanks to the Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the latest announcements of the Thunderbolts have captured interest in this book once more. The first appearance of the US Agent (John Walker) is hot again! We tracked 10 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 206%, with a high sale of $145 for a CGC 9.6. FMV for a raw NM copy is $40.
#8 TRUTH: RED, WHITE & BLACK #1 | MARVEL | 2003
While Kevin Feige confirmed Captain America: New World Order, back at the San Diego Comic-Con, we finally got a cast announcement! There were several surprises in the casting announcement, one of which was the return of Isaiah Bradley. Once again, this is an issue that picked up interest due to Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, the book cooled down after the series concluded. Since the announcement, we have seen Isaiah Bradley’s first appearance sell 21 copies, at a 7-day trend of 103%, with a high sale of $250 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM copy is currently $33.
#7 THE INCREDIBLE HULK #449 | MARVEL | 1997
The Thunderbolts make it to the top ten once more! This is truly an interesting book to see in the top ten. Yes, this is the first appearance of the Thunderbolts; however, the team is entirely different from the recently announced MCU team. Nevertheless, this book is moving quickly! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 124%, with a high sale of $600 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM copy is $131.
#6 MARVEL PRESENTS #1 | MARVEL | 1975
Marvel has finally released more information on the largely anticipated Werewolf By Night Halloween Special. Moments after the casting reveal, a teaser was shown for the series. The teaser gave away tons of information and even teased a fan-favorite character (more on that later). Additionally, Disney+ has now added a page for the special event. The synopsis confirms that the location will be at the Bloodstone Temple after the death of its owner, likely Ulysses Bloodstone, who debuts in this issue of Marvel Presents. We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 120%, with a high sale of $875 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw copy is $71.
#5 MAN-THING #1 | MARVEL | 1974
The Werewolf by Night teaser has officially debuted! With that trailer, we get a glimpse of a giant-sized Man-Thing! It’s a “blink, and you’ll miss it” moment at the 1:05 mark of the trailer. However, the first appearance of the beloved character is in SAVAGE TALES #1. This is a much more attainable collectible and Man-Thing’s first solo series. It is also the second appearance of Howard the Duck! We tracked 20 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 141%, with a high sale of $1,200 for a CGC 9.6. FMV for a raw NM copy is $247.
#4 STAR WARS KANAN #1 | MARVEL | 2015
The ONLY non-MCU book on our top ten list is the first appearance of Ezra Bridger. While Mena Massoud was fan-casted to play the titular Star Wars character, the role went to Eman Esfandi. He will bring Ezra to life in the Disney+ Series Ahsoka, led by Rosario Dawson. The early synopsis of the series is said to follow Ahsoka as she traverses the galaxy in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn. We tracked 29 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 141%, with a high sale of $400 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM copy is $49.
#3 AVENGERS #43 | MARVEL | 1967
At number 3, this is the last top 10 book related to the Thunderbolts. The first appearance of the Red Guardian is the oldest Thunderbolts-related book on our list. Although it may have a higher price point, that has not stopped this book from having the highest 7-day sales trend when compared to other Thunderbolts books on this list. We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 250%, with a high sale of $1,549 for a CGC 9.4. FMV for a raw NM copy will set you back about $120.
#2 THE INCREDIBLE HULK #250 | MARVEL | 1980
Perhaps one of the most exciting cast reveals for Captain America: New World Order is the inclusion of an obscure and little-known character, Sabra. How does an obscure character reach the top of the list? Well, there seems to be a bit of controversy associated with the character and her comic origins. A quick google search will give you more information on this matter. However, one thing is certain; controversy drives interest and value in the associated comic. Her cameo appearance has spiked to prove this point! We tracked 23 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 277%, with a high sale of $452.30 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM copy is $44.
#1 THE INCREDIBLE HULK #256 | MARVEL | 1980
‘Nuff said! The previous entry has all the information you need to know why Sabra’s first full appearance takes the number one spot this week! We tracked 46 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 325%, with a high sale of $900 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM copy will run $56.
10 out of 10 this week. Been a while since that has happened.
Sabra is controversial?
People have nothing better to do then piss and moan about everything. Waiting for baited breath to be offended.
