As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.
#11 STAR WARS DAWN OF THE JEDI FORCE STORM #1 | DARK HORSE | 2012
The AHSOKA trailer has caused quite a stir. She’s a fascinating character who struggles with the rigid Jedi order. But, before a Jedi order existed, there was a group of crusaders of the Force: The Je’Daii. This book marks their debut and the first appearances of Xesh, Trill, Kora Ryo, Rori Fenn, and Tem Madog. This culminated in a massive spike in sales as folks aimed to secure a copy of this book with a low print run of only 18,797. We tracked 18 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 256%, with a high sale of $325 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $95.
#12 STAR WARS DAWN OF THE JEDI #0 | DARK HORSE | 2012
A predecessor to our top book on this list, it details the origin of the Force and the Jedi. It also shows preview sketches of Xesh and Trill before their full debut in Force Storm. It was undoubtedly an under-the-radar book until recently, with a low print run of only 17,260. We tracked 13 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 360%, with a high sale of $99 for a CGC 9.6 and a raw NM FMV of $61.
#13 STREET FIGHTER #1 | MALIBU | 1993
Per Deadline, Street Fighter may be the next big video game adaptation. Legendary recently secured the movie right and is already working on a movie, and whether it will improve the 1994 film remains to be seen. But, Legendary is a capable studio, and (mostly thanks to The Last of Us) faith has been restored in video game films for now. While this first comic appearance has seen increased movement, it remains very affordable. We tracked 39 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 92%, with a high sale of $140 for a CGC 9.2 and a raw FN FMV of $4.
#14 SPIDER-MAN #7 ALEX ROSS TIMELESS DOCTOR OCTOPUS VIRGIN | MARVEL | 2023
All the homies love Spider-Boy. People have been grabbing every copy of the first appearance of Spider-Boy, including this one. Add to the fact it’s part of the recent Alex Ross Timeless variants, and you have a recipe for an active aftermarket. We tracked 56 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 118%, with a high sale of $17 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $10.
#15 BATMAN #134 FRANK CHO (1:25) | DC | APR 5, 2023
Batman and Red Mask are set to face off, but the star of this issue is this Catwoman 1:25 Cho variant. Catwoman has seen an incredible spike in fanfare as she’s the star of numerous variant covers released over the past several years. This book adds to that trend; collectors now set their sights on this cardstock variant. We tracked 51 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 116%, with a high sale of $30.93 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $15.
#16 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 MARK BAGLEY 2ND PRINT | MARVEL | 2011
Let’s go! We finally got a new trailer for ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE and were inundated with all the various Spider-People. But the fanbase remembers who the focal point is; Miles Morales. Of course, he first appeared in the 1st print of this book. That book has skyrocketed in price over the years, and many have opted to secure the more affordable 2nd print. That features a depiction of Miles with his face revealed, as it was obscured in the 1st print. We tracked 54 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 98%, with a high sale of $280 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $63.
#17 INFINITE CRISIS #3 GEORGE PEREZ | DC | 2005
The Blue Beetle trailer caught so many members of the community off-guard. Heck, most thought this movie would be relegated to the scrap heap. Initially set to be an HBO Max exclusive, it was later elevated to full theatrical release. And….it looks fantastic. Que the crazy run for all versions of this book, including this cover B that features the debut of one Jaimie Reyes. We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 171%, with a high sale of $80 for a CGC 9.6 and a raw VF FMV of $19.
#18 SPIDER-MAN #7 ALEX ROSS SKETCH (1:100) | MARVEL | 2023
Every variant for this book is bumpin’. Without this hot first appearance, this 1:100 Alex Ross Sketch variant would have tumbled to half of ratio like its Ross Hero/Villian sketch brethren. While it hasn’t seen quite the volume in sales as the Alex Ross Virgin Variant, 26 copies sold (as of this writing) is nothing to scoff at! The community is still playing catch-up. We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 121%, with a high sale of $100 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $96.
#19 DESTINY, NY #1 | BLACK MASK STUDIOS | 2021
Deadline is reporting that “Black Mask Graphic Novel’ Destiny, NY’ Series Adaptation In Works From Tegan & Sara, Sony Pictures Television.” This book has started trending and has a hard-to-find 1:100 variant. We’re entering into prime comic book adaptation release season, and this news has flown under the radar for the most part. Still, enough people were paying attention and opted to secure a copy that it popped up on our list! We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 155%, with a high sale of $10 for a raw copy and an NM FMV of $5.
#20 BATMAN #134 STANLEY ARTGERM LAU VIRGIN FOIL (1:50) | DC | 2023
Punchline is the newest dame (well, she’s three years old now) to occupy the Batman universe, and she’s front and center on this Artgerm 1:50 foil variant and yet another to dominate the aftermarket. This book also features a progression of the standoff between Batman and Red Mask, and fans are here for it! We tracked 28 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 82%, with a high sale of $50 for an NM raw copy with an NM FMV of $40.
