CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 6/23/23

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 WAR OF THE REALMS: NEW AGENTS OF ATLAS #1 | MARVEL | 2019
Apparently, ALLKPOP is where all the cool kids go lately for their MCU news, as a rumor popped up on the site that has many folks talking; “Jennie (of BLACKPINK) will be a team member on the first-ever Asian superhero team in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She’ll be playing K-pop singer and superhero Luna Snow, aka Seol Hee; who manipulates ice to protect people in the Pacific Rim and around the world. Like Jennie, Luna Snow speaks both Korean and English.” Numerous other sites ran with the headline sparking the internet ablaze. Of course, some celebs fueled the rumors when Asian MCU actors like Fala Chen, Claudia Kim, and Benedict Wong suddenly followed Jennie on Instagram. It’s still unconfirmed, but we tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 136%, with a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $21.

#12 SPIDER-PUNK #1 | MARVEL | 2022
Some may remember this book was on FIRE when it was released. It wasn’t the first appearance of Spider-Punk, which rocketed in price when this book dropped, and rumors swirled he would appear in ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE. It’s the next best thing, his first solo series. With numerous first appearances and cameos to boot, it was an easy choice for many collectors opting to secure a Spider-Punk key. That choice remains easy as more fans see the film and experience Spider-Punk in a new medium. We tracked 31 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 118%, with a high sale of $130 for a CGC 9.8 and raw NM FMV of $13.

#13 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #172 | MARVEL | 1977
Some may ask, “who tf is Rocket Racer?” Well, to start, he first appeared in this book! A few months back, The Hypno Hustler was making rounds as the next big thing before quickly disappearing. Now, many collectors look to his crime partner, Rocket Racer, as a potentially excellent addition to future Spider-Verse films. He appeared in the 90’s Spider-Man animated series and was much appreciated in that outing. Now, fans are clamoring for him to return! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 274%, with a high sale of $140 for a CGC 9.6 and a current NM raw FMV of $17.

#14 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992
He’s never gone for long, always lurking in the shadows. That’s right; Spawn is back on our lists! As one of the most heavily moved books of all time, it’s not surprising. People sure do love a hellspawn who viscously disposes of the supernatural and real-world bad guys in a thoroughly badass manner! We tracked 31 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 100%, with a high sale of $217.78 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $40.

#15 SPIDER-GWEN (VOL. 1) #1 | MARVEL | 2015
This book has cooled down just a hair but remains noteworthy! Over time, Spider-Gwen has become a fan-favorite character. Even more so now that she played such an essential part in both Spider-Verse films. Considering her first appearance in Edge of Spider-Verse #2 is out of affordability for many collectors, they have decided to pick up this book instead. Not quite a first appearance, but the first solo series has a nice ring to it! We tracked 31 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 97%, and had a high sale of $119.95 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $24.

#16 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #78 | MARVEL | 1969
Since INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE was released, the Prowler has become nearly synonymous with Miles Morales. For a good reason, as the Earth-1610 version happens to be Miles Morales’s uncle, Aaron Davis. Before that, he first appeared in this book as the Hobie Brown Prowler. But fans aren’t necessarily collecting this book for the man behind the mask but for the character. With the most recent Spider-Verse film, his relevance is at an all-time high, as is his aftermarket movement. We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 156%, with a high sale of $750 for a CGC 9.0 and a raw VG FMV of $75.

#17 ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 – SARA PICHELLI – 2ND PRINT | MARVEL | 2011
Face it; Miles Morales has nearly cemented himself as the face of modern comic book media. He’s everywhere, and his fanbase grows every day. There has been a massive run over the years on his first appearance. It’s become a distant possibility of acquisition for many, so those who opt out of that rat race look to this book. While it doesn’t have the prestige behind it that the first print does, it still features the first appearance of Miles Morales at an affordable price. This book can still be had for under $100, which is a steal in today’s collector-driven market. We tracked 23 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 126%, with a high sale of $259 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $55.

#18 VOID RIVALS #1 – JIM CHEUNG & JAY DAVID RAMOS (1:50) | IMAGE | 2023
That reveal, though! Most reading this probably know what happens in this book, especially with the 1:100 variant floating around all over the internet. But if you don’t, we won’t spoil it for you, as it’s a lot of fun! Still, those that do know have been working to secure every variation of this book and its great covers, including this 1:50! We tracked 40 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 70%, with a high sale of $49.95 for a raw copy at a current raw NM FMV of $34.

#19 RUINS #1 | MARVEL | 1995
Now, this book is f&%#^n cool! Set in a dystopian world, the numerous accidents and moments of chance that created our favorite heroes instead create a world of disaster and horror. Inspired by MARVELS, this book is the first part of a two-part series that removes the sheen of “heroism” and replaces it with visions of a world where nothing goes right. With so many big-screen multiversal superhero epics, it’s interesting to see the downside of said superhero worlds getting some attention. We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 145%, with a high sale of $25.10 for a raw copy.

#20 MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #8 | MARVEL | 1984
Here it is again! The book that just won’t quit. A modern grail for many, it symbolizes a turning point in Peter Parker’s life and superhero career. Fans finally got the details on the black suit, which led to the creation and debut of Venom. Venom is beloved by many, so naturally, they tend to return to this book when acquiring Venom’s key issues, as it pairs very well with ASM #300. We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 118%, with a high sale of $706 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $178.
