RUNNERS-UP

#11 THE NEW TEEN TITANS #1 DC | 1980
James Gunn’s DCU is shaping up to be something spectacular. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the Teen Titans will get the big screen treatment. Not only that, but the same squad most fans are familiar with. That led them to this book, which features the second team appearance and origin of the fan-favorite Titan team comprised of Robin, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven, Cyborg, and to a lesser extent, Kid Flash and Wonder Girl. We tracked 17 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 191%, with a high sale of $290 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $84.

#12 I HEART SKULL-CRUSHER #1 – ALESSIO ZONNO – VIRGIN (1 PER STORE) BOOM! | 2024
It seems BOOM! Studios may have another hit on their hands. This recently released book has garnered some stellar reviews, with the fanbase playing catch-up as it may have slipped through the cracks for wider audiences. However, this one-per-store virgin variant has risen to the top of the ‘most wanted’ charts. We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 121%, with a high sale of $23 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $13.

#13 SPIDER-MEN #1 MARVEL | 2012
With the newly launched Spectacular Spider-Men series, fans are getting a more in-depth look at Marvel’s two Spider-Men. Their relationship is evolving, causing collectors to return to the roots in this book. Dubbed the first meeting of Miles and Peter, it varies drastically from what we are seeing play out in the new Spider-Men series. Instead of fighting it out, they’re developing a friendship. The fanbase is all up in their feels! We tracked 11 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 134%, with a high sale of $102 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $22.

#14 WOLVERINE #36 – RYAN STEGMAN – REGULAR MARVEL | 2023
Before Wolverine dove headlong into the war with Sabretooth, he was possessed by the Spirit of Vengeance, donning the moniker Hellverine. He was an immediate hit with the fanbase, and collectors have been chasing this book ever since. Earlier this year, Marvel announced Hellverine would get his ongoing title, causing a spike in sales for his first appearance in this book. It’s ebbed and flowed, but this week, it’s flowing! We tracked 22 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 101%, a high sale of $235 for a CGC 9.8, and a current NM FMV of $54.

#15 EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #1 – SURPRISE MARVEL | 2024
Weapon VIII (8) is here, and he bodies Wolverine in his debut! That got the attention of fans, who were hot on the aftermarket trail for this book. The surprise variant limited to 1-3 copies per LCS was a big hit with collectors as it was obviously ‘rarer’ than Cover A. It was a version limited to a chase AND featured a depiction of Spider-Man that the average collector was familiar with. It checks the boxes, leading us to track 24 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 85%, with a high sale of $40 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $24.

#16 AVENGERS: TWILIGHT #1 – ALEX ROSS – REGULAR MARVEL | 2024
Not only does Alex Ross crush this cover, but we get a ‘major’ first appearance to boot. This book marks the debut of James Star, the son of Tony Stark. He’s a lot like his father but also very different. Naturally, fans were eager to pick up a copy of his debut before he eventually donned a suit of armor of his own in AVENGERS: TWILIGHT #3. We tracked 12 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 63%, with a high sale of $20 for an NM raw and a current raw NM FMV of $17.

#17 MARVEL SUPER-HEROES SECRET WARS #8 MARVEL | 1984
This book was trending for months thanks to Madame Web and the appearance of Julia Carpenter as Spider-Woman. We didn’t quite get that, but that hasn’t stopped this book from trending. Most know it as the origin of the Black Suit that would become Venom. That’s enough for most fans to chase it, forgetting all about its greater underlying connections. We tracked 25 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 93%, with a high sale of $510 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $210.

#18 ALIEN WORLDS #4 PACIFIC COMICS | 1983
It’s rare for a creator buying trend to hit the Top 10 or Runner-Up list. Usually, the upward mobility is relatively slow and steady. However, that’s not the case for Dave Stevens. It feels like the comic industry just woke up and discovered this legend. It has allowed some of his more obscure and still affordable covers to trend, like this issue. Check out our weekly Market Report, as it’s featured a ton of trending Dave Stevens gems lately as the market gets wise. We tracked 17 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 103%, with a high sale of $151 for a CGC 9.6 and a current raw NM FMV of $40.

#19 X-MEN #27 – PEACH MOMOKO – NEW CHAMPIONS MARVEL | 2023
Ultimate X-Men has followed the trend of new Ultimate titles rocking the aftermarket. A big ‘new’ player is Maystorm, created by Peach Momoko herself. This book features Maystorm front and center on the cover and has quickly become the ‘key’ to get for Maystorm fans as she gains more of a foothold. That continues this week as we tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 83%, with a high sale of $162 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $52.

#20 THE IMMORTAL IRON FIST #2 MARVEL | 2006
Iron Fist on Netflix had its fans, but it was the least favorable of their five series. However, there have been recent rumors that the Living Weapon may return to the screen, albeit with a female behind the superhero this time. Fans immediately thought of this book, featuring the first appearance of Wu Ao-Shi, a female Iron Fist from past generations. Online theories are going crazy, taking one of the best parts from Iron Fist, Coleen Wing, and bestowing the Iron Fist title upon her for the reboot, bringing about a depiction of Wu Ao-Shi as featured in this book. We tracked 11 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 121%, with a high sale of $13 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $11
