Lots of great things are in the works for the team. That being said, the Shadow King is one of X-Men’s most iconic villains. In this book, Professor X recalls his battle with the Shadow King and how it led him to the creation of the X-Men. Additionally, at the end of last month, Shadow King resurfaced in RESURRECTiON OF MAGNETO #3. In honor of this anniversary, Marvel is launching a black suit variant collection across several books; the collection launches on May 1st, including characters from Thor and Iron Man to Ms. Marvel and Spider-Boy. Grab your copy of this book and commemorate 40 years of symbiote awesomeness! Ultimate Spider-Man dropped to the runner-ups this week! There is really not much to say about this book; it makes a consistent appearance every week. The only difference is that the swings between the top ten and runner-ups are more prevalent lately. This could indicate that, while this book is popular, it is no longer a top priority in every collector’s buy list. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 19%, with a high sale of $120 for a raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $96.

Hugh Jackman has been the definitive Wolverine for the past 25 years, and he’s back! We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 14% with a high sale of $780 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $151.

In a world of increasingly adult-oriented covers, Penthouse Comics made their comeback! Their last series ran from 1994-98 and was titled PENTHOUSE COMIX. After 30 years, February marked the relaunch of the series. This issue’s polybagged (nude) cover has taken off in popularity. It probably has nothing to do with the nude cover and everything to do with it being a retailer incentive cover. We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 11%, with a high sale of $50 for a raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $27.

Deadpool! That’s pretty much all we have left to say about this book… Deadpool & Wolverine is only three months away, and we’re likely going to see Deadpool books heat up! This book is the first appearance of Deadpool and a highly coveted book among collectors. The latest trailer points to the importance of this film in the larger multiverse of the MCU. Maybe there is merit to Wade Wilson’s grandiose statement that he is “Marvel Jesus.” We tracked 16 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 5%, with a high sale of $1500 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of 412.

Cable has had a tremendous following even before the release of X-Men ’97. Fans were happy to see Cable debut in Deadpool 2 and are crossing their fingers that he will appear in the latest film. In the meantime, we all were surprised to see him appear in episode 5 of X-Men ’97. Cable made a small time jump in an attempt to protect his mother. He gave a grave warning before being pulled back in time. Previews of future episodes show Cable in new scenes, giving more importance to his role in the series’ final episodes. We tracked ten copies sold at a 7-day trend of 3%, with a high sale of $485 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of 99.

All the X-Men are getting their chance to shine, but no one glows brighter than Gambit. His role in the new X-Men ‘97 series has catapulted his popularity to another level. While there are other key issues of Gambit, this issue marks his first appearance. The book predates UNCANNY X-MEN #266 and features the full artwork of the character. While it seems like his role in the new animated series is over, here is hoping that there is a small chance he will return! We tracked 35 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 1%, with a high sale of $200 for a CBCS 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of 31.
Great List! I need to sit down and start watching X-men 97.
