Tax day is quickly approaching. Just sent mine in this evening, leaving little time for throwing together an FOC list. Oh, and we will no longer be linking comics to TFAW, as they are shutting down their online ordering.
Hang on, here we go!
COVERS
Normally the cover of the week would be reserved for great artwork, but this book, a reprint of Image issue #1, will include a sound chip of the transforming noise! Hopefully it’s the cartoon, and not the movies.
Highlighting the Optimus Prime cover because…well…it’s Prime! But there is also a Decepticon (Starscream) variant.
(Note: These sound byte covers are $19.99 retail)
VOID RIVALS #1 – Sound Chip Edition (Foil Variant)
Supposedly the Transformers #1 will have a different sound file than the Void Rivals reprint.
Cool mash-up cover, Sonic as Flash. Not too many shops offering this online, from what I can find.
His covers outside of Monsters have fizzled a bit. But he’s still hitting it out of the park on this series.
FACSIMILES
First appearance of Aquaman and Green Arrow get the Fax treatment.
FIRST ISSUES
For the first time in print, you can read issues #25-36 of Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru’s original IT’S JEFF infinity comic, plus five delightful tales from Gustavo Duarte’s JEFF WEEK!.
FIRST APPEARANCES
ULTIMATE SABRETOOTH CLAWS HIS WAY ONTO THE SCENE! Mysteries of Ultimate Wolverine’s past are revealed when a familiar face joins the fray!
INDY SPOTLIGHT
SERIES PREMIERE There is a world of magic, myth, and monsters that exists beneath the surface of our own. Since first contact was made over 100 years ago, The Great Hunters have kept us safe from the creatures that lurk in the shadows. But last night something broke through, and it’s up to rookie monster hunter Henry Blackheart to stop it… A fresh take on fantasy from creators CURT PIRES (INDIGO CHILDREN) and LUCA CASALANGUIDA (James Bond)! EAST OF WEST meets Something is Killing the Children in this new ongoing series. Plus: The INDIGO CHILDREN return in INDIGO CHILDREN: EXODUS! A brand-new story serialized ONLY in the pages of LOST FANTASY!
PICK OF THE WEEK
There are mutants who call themselves X-Men in Alaska and Louisiana and Chicago. But as Cyclops’ team find themselves in more than one set of crosshairs dealing with a mutant crisis in Alaska, a new group of enemies make themselves known: They are the X-Men, who are sponsored by 3K in their bid for possession of the future of mutantkind!
New “X-Men” debuting. Maybe they show up in cameo at the end of #15, but not a lot of hype so going to run with this as the pick of the week.
Parting Thoughts
I got nothing this week. Just have a great week!
