Every week, tons of new books hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are the picks of the week for delivery this Wednesday
What is up Wednesday Warriors. This week has a fifth week vibe to it (which I also said last week), but some pretty cool books. Check out what is on tap:
New Series
Be Not Afraid #1 – Cora Reims lived the isolated life of a simple farm girl until one fateful summer day, prophetic visions brought her a visitor made of pure light… an angel. In the aftermath, Cora gave birth to a child, a Nephilim: the offspring of an angel and a human woman, seemingly imbued with evil itself. 17 years later, that child’s cherubic appearance can no longer hide his monstrous nature. Frogs boil in their skins as he passes. Crops rot. The townspeople live in fear, knowing that atrocities follow closely behind him. Now, on the eve of his 18th birthday, Cora receives a new vision… Heaven itself has called upon her to destroy the abomination born of her own flesh and blood.
Endless Night #1 – When Axel Black, an obsessive tech billionaire and head of the sinister Order of Nine, sends his operatives to Exit City in search of a dangerous mystical artifact, only a team of unlikely allies from different corners of the underworld can prevent an apocalyptic catastrophe: VELVETEEN, the elite rogue assassin hellbent on revenge; McCORMICK & MILLER, two detectives keeping peace in a lawless city; and OWEN BLACKWOOD, a monster hunter duty-bound to stop evil. But tensions are mounting, and time is running out! ENDLESS NIGHT is Mad Cave’s miniseries event of Summer 2025, a genre-smashing collision of archetypal heroes
Imperial #1 – A sweeping Marvel cosmic event! Imperial is a story of intrigue, mysteries and war, which takes place against the backdrop of the formation of new galactic order in the Marvel Universe. Featuring HULKS, BLACK PANTHERS, NOVAS, GUARDIANS and COSMIC KINGS and QUEENS.
Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong 2 #1 – First series did pretty well, and was a good read to boot. Worth checking out.
One and Done
Sixth Gun Road To The Six #0 (One Shot) – fan favorite and one time spec darling The Sixth Gun returns to print.
For the Cover
Pop Kill #4 J Scott Campbell Frisky Cover – JSC gets a little randy on this cover. The book itself has been a fun read but the covers have been killer.
One to Watch
Ultimate Spider-Man Incursion #1 – Miles Morales crosses over from the 616 to the Ultimate Universe, and Richard Parker takes on a new identity. Spoilers later.
Pick of the Week
Marvel Knights The World To Come #1 – Twist ending is pretty great, spoilers later. Could be the surprise of the summer. Spoilers later.
