PREVIEW: VIKINGS VS WEREWOLVES IN THE UPCOMING SERIES VIKING MOON

Eisner Award winning Joe Pruett (Voices In My Head, Cable, Domino) and legendary artist Marcelo Frusin (Hellblazer, Loveless, Kick-Ass: The New Girl) team up for an all-new tale of blood-curdling horror in Viking Moon. This five issue miniseries is set to launch in September from Image Comics.

“This a story I’ve wanted to write for a long time, but I did not want to do it unless I found the perfect artist for it…which I did in Marcelo Frusin,” said Pruett. “I think Marcelo is doing the best work of his career with this series and I can’t wait for the world to see and love it as much as I do! He truly is a master in his element with this title. It’s an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat, horror tale that I promise will offer twists and shocks you did not see coming! It’s M. Night Shyamalan meets Vikings meets The Howling.”

VIKINGS versus WEREWOLVES! The real reason the Vikings fled North America! This barbaric adventure begins in 1003, when Leif Erikson established a Viking settlement in Vneland (present day Newfoundland), a strange new world of plenty. But this untamed frontier is populated by more than an indigenous people… This is something unnatural that stalks the night… Twenty years after the original expedition ended in disaster, a new attempt to settle this wilderness is made. Ulf and his hardened tribe of Vikings soon discover that the whisper of creatures who are both human and beast are not primitive legend, but death-bringing reality.

Frusin added: “From the very first moment Joe told me about ‘Viking Moon,’ I was fascinated by the combination of Vikings and werewolves, an epic and terrifying universe that offered me infinite visual possibilities. Joe’s talent for handling these elements and crafting a captivating story moment by moment has impressed me from the start. As Joe develops the script, every decision he makes seems perfect to me and leaves me with a constant desire to know how the story will continue. I hope you all enjoy the comic as much as I enjoy drawing it!”

Viking Moon #1 (Lunar Code 0725IM292) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, September 17.
