Black Mask Signing with Matthew Rosenberg and Matt Pizzolo

I usually come in here the day of a signing to say how things went. Usually say nice things about the creators for taking the time out to do the signing. I hadn’t done so up until this point. Sadly, I ended up very sick (had pneumonia) and ended up in bed for a couple of days until the antibiotics kicked in. Also, this was the reason for the lack of posts at the end of last week. If you are still interested in signed copies you can pick up copies of Young Terrorists #1 Third Eye Variant, We Can Never Go Home Again #2 Dag Nasty Homage, We Can Never Go Home Again #3 SSD Homage straight from Third Eye Comics on eBay.

But needless to say, the signing with Matthew and Matt was by far one of the best I had been to in a long time. I got there early enough that I was able to get everyone’s books signed (they started hitting the mail today) but late enough I missed the initial rush and got to hang out and talk. And talk I did. Matt Pizzolo was so down to earth. It was cool to talk to someone about punk music and comics and movies who was I to the same things. It amazes me how down to earth so many creators are.

Matthew Rosenberg was the same. Very down to earth, a lot of the same bands in common, and just incredible to talk to. Matthew and Matt let me in on a bunch of stuff, some I can talk about and some, well not so much. Matt Pizzolo is huge part of bringing ‘Five Ghosts’ to TV, as well as, his own ‘God Killers’ animated adaptation. Matthew talked about the personal nature of ‘We Can Never Go Home’ and about the costume use in issue 3 and the reuse in the second print. (The story was written to where the two page spread didn’t have to be there.)

Overall a killer time. Again if you still want signed copies of Young Terrorists #1 Third Eye Variant, We Can Never Go Home Again #2 Dag Nasty Homage, We Can Never Go Home Again #3 SSD Homage you can get them straight from Third Eye Comics on eBay.

I know I had to have bugged the crap out of them with my millions of questions, but neither of them winced nor chased me off so that is a plus. Again, just great down to earth guys.

The biggest thing I took away from the signing, and this is thanks to you guys, is people have told them the read about the books on Comicsheatingup.net. Thanks to everyone for getting the word out about us!
