A prequel to the highly anticipated game, the Call of Duty: Black Ops III comic book series follows an elite group of soldiers as they wage a secret war across a futuristic, war-torn world transformed by technology. In the bullet-ridden first issue, the team infiltrates Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to take down a double agent . . . but as they close in, they uncover something much more sinister at hand.”

Why I like it: Call of Duty is a super smash hit in the Video Game world and I think this is the perfect title to bring the crossover audience. Legendary Larry Hama writing. I expect this to be a great read and see a decent bump in the aftermarket

Kingsway West

KINGSWAY WEST #1-Dark Horse

Why I like it – Ever since Red Dead Redemption I’ve been a fan of Western’s in other media besides Television, this one has an interesting premise as well as some FANTASTIC Art by Mirko Colak

Dynamite Entertainment is proud to launch the first James Bond comic book series in 20 years! ‘Ian Fleming’s James Bond is an icon, and it’s a delight to tell visual narratives with the original, brutal, damaged Bond of the books.’ – Warren Ellis”

Why I like It-JAMES BOND ON GOING…SIGN ME UP…and take a look at that gorgeous Francavilla cover, which I’m sure will be my variant pick of the week sometime in November expect the print run on this to be extremely high

Citizen Jack

CITIZEN JACK #1 (MR)-Image

Together, they’re running for president in an outrageous campaign that America will never forget! Blockbuster writer SAM HUMPHRIES (Guardians of the Galaxy and X-men: Black Vortex) and New York Times bestselling artist TOMMY PATTERSON (Game of Thrones) debut a brand new ONGOING SERIES with a DIABOLICAL EXTRA-SIZED FIRST ISSUE!”

Why I like It –LOL Art is really imitating life with the up and coming Presidential election I doubt this title is too far off from the truth, definitely seems like a good read

Huck

HUCK #1 – IMAGE

“(W) Mark Millar (A/CA) Rafael Albuquerque

This brand-new series from writer MARK MILLAR and artist RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE presents a comic book unlike anything you’ve read before. Featuring a Feel-Good Movie variant cover by RAFAEL ALBUQURQUE.”

Why I like it – Mark Miller = Media deal…like him or not truth is he puts out pretty entertaining books. I can totally see Michael Keaton playing the role of Huck, lol

RINGSIDE #1-Image

Description
“(W) Joe Keatinge (A/CA) Nick Barber, Simon Gough

THE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING EPIC BEGINS IN AN OVER-SIZED FIRST ISSUE! RINGSIDE is an ongoing series set within the world of professional wrestling, written by JOE KEATINGE (SHUTTER, GLORY, and TECH JACKET) and drawn by acclaimed illustrator NICK BARBER, combining the ensemble drama of THE WALKING DEAD with interconnected rotating perspectives akin to The Wire. Each issue will explore the relationship between art and industry from the view of the wrestlers themselves, the creative they work with, the suits in charge and the fans cheering them all on. But that’s just the beginning. The real violence is outside the ring.”

Why I like it- I was a huge fan of wrestling and a huge fan of the movies like The Wrestler, and Beyond the Mat (if you haven’t seen those yet, go check em out) where they showed life outside the ring. This is a new and defiantly original idea to be brought to print, I’m absolutely excited about this book this is my book of the Month I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS

Six

SIX #1-451 Media

Description

“(W) George Pelecanos, Andrew Ewington (A/CA) Mack Chater
From master author George Pelecanos, (HBO’s The Wire, The Pacific, Treme), comes a searing tale of warfare at its worst and fighting soldiers at their best. Sergeant James McQuade and five former members of the Five-One Sand Scorpions find themselves outnumbered and outgunned against the most lethal and unpredictable enemy they ever went head-to-head with. It was someone else’s war but it was their fight. Just the way they like it.”

Why I Like it- 451 Media Group is action director Michael Bay’s digital media company. So you know you can expect HIGH ACTION AND 8-9 Pages of explosions, and the name Five-One Sand Scorpions will sell books on its own. Print run could be small but with Bay’s name attached to a super action packed book, it could thrive in the after market

Tomboy

TOMBOY #1 ELY CVR-Danger Zone

Why I LIKE IT –SLEEPER HIT OF THE MONTH Kind of like how Lady Killer was for Dark Horse a year ago .Mia Goodwin has a hit on her hands…Female lead Vigilante Justice=HIT in my book

Black Bag

BLACK BAG #1-Legendary

Description

“(W) Chris Roberson (A) J.B. Bastos (CA) Drew Johnson

Of course there is – if you’re willing to take the shot. It’s time the world found out what she is truly capable of. Legendary Comics presents Black Bag, a new espionage thriller written by Chris Roberson with artwork by JB Bastos.”

Why I like it – Legendary has put out some good books like a town called dragon and it’s a movie studio so at some point you may want to start stocking up on Legendary titles. This one has the proverbial media deal written all over it

wakfu

WAKFU #1-Titan

Description

“(W) Kahel (A) Mig, Saturax
The wonderful world of Wakfu in comics! For the first time, the colorful, wacky world of the hit series Wakfu is to be available in comics. In this first issue, the intrepid hero-in-the-making Yugo and his friends stumble across a mysterious amusement park. While the band explore, it seems that one of their number has caught the eye of the secretive and lonely Shak Shaka!”

Why I like it- I was going to skip right over this. But something told me to do a bit of in depth research on this one. Based on a MMORPG and a INSANELY popular kids cartoon, this book has potential written all over it. It was picked up by Cartoon network couple years ago and has only been showing in Australia. When it hits the states this book will have a ton of upside.
