Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best show at heating up. Here are our picks of the week for delivery 10/14/15:
I am not kidding, I am tired. Bone tired. NYCC is such a good time but so much to do and so many people to talk to and see. But the miles walked and hours driven wore me down. I need to sleep for a week, however, new comics, so let’s get to it.
Halloween Pick of the Week
Blood Feud #1– Cannot pass up Cullen Bunn doing a new horror series. Its from Oni Press so it will not be a super big print run.
The One with the Walking and the Dead
Walking Dead #147– The new season is back on. Rumor has it that Jesus will be appearing sooner as little hints have been dropped. But anyway, just buy the book.
Small Press Gem
Empire of Blood #1-Selling out on-line. This new vampire book from Graphic India looks pretty cool.
The Fan Favorite
I Hate Fairyland #1– Skottie Young doing his own series. He has a ton of fans so I expect it to have a pretty big print run, but still, Skottie Young.
Small Press Pick of the Week
Straightjacket #1– selling out online and with good reason. Amigo does some damn fine horror books. Check out Westwood Witches and to see what I mean.
The Pick of the Week
Clandestino #1– I have read the book and it is awesome. NYCC Variant were flying off the shelf. My friends at Third Eye Comics have their Third Eye Variant which I am partial to. Not to do too much shameless self promotion, but I have two Signed Third Eye Variants available. We will be giving away a (unsigned) Third Eye Variant this week.
Returning Favorites
Broken Moon #2 I love American Gothic Press, this book is great. Plus there is another Sanjulian variant.
Harrow County #6 Again Cullen Bunn doing horror, this has been a solid read.
Also, do not forget the Second Printing of Scooby Doo Team Up 12. Bleeding Cool had hyped this one as the smallest print run of a Harley Book, but with the first print coming in at 15,000 books, I am going to say this still could have a large print run.
That is it for this week. Let us know what you are spec-ing on.
THANK YOU THANK YOU Tony for everything!!
No worries man. Glad to have met you and had a good time n
