  1. And thanks to you (and all other you mentioned), it’s always really fun to visit the site with all spec news (not least on wednedays) and exciting to see if one have won a nice issue (maybe I will for the first during 2016 for the first time, I think I will :-D)

  2. Salute..Thank you all the readers of CHU,And thank you to Tony for giving me the opportunity to write for his site… I have some new stuff in store for 2016 ..including a new and revamped Risk and Reward

  3. Thank you Tony for allowing us to visit and a part of your site. I know for a fact that my comic collection wouldn’t be as be or as crazy if it wasn’t for the indies and the new books you recommend for us to read. Thank you and thanks to all the CHU readers……..

  4. Tony,

back in October of 2014, I was a hopelessly lost drunk a$$hole. I found my old dusty Star Wars comics and decided to get my hands on my long coveted Dark Empire Platinum embossed editions. I quickly found that Wolverine was “dying” in the Marvel universe and also found out that it was too hard to read a comic while drunk.

I wrote a letter to my wife promising to remain sober, read Bob Layton’s Iron Man Demon in a Bottle and began writing pieces for comicsheatingup.net.

I am now a moderately successful first-year attorney and have a clear head every day.

I’m not knocking anybody who enjoys a drink, it just wasn’t for me. What I am saying is thank you. Thank you for being part of my recovery.

CBCS has graded my authenticated signature series Bob Layton Iron Man #128 at a 7.5, it’s shipping back, I’ve been sober for a year and almost three months, and I’m happier than ever.

So thank all of you. Thank you for giving me a place of distraction, a new obsession for my wild mind.

This site truly means more to me than you thought or knew.

    DrunkWooky out.

    1. Congrats on the sobriety. I quit smoking 3 1/2 years ago (I was never a heavy chain smoker), never felt better myself. Now I enjoy me a drink every so often (I’m a beer guy) but unless I’m doing yard work (nothing beats a cold beer after mowing the yard in this dreaded 100+ degree heat in central Texas), a 6 pack can last me 2-4 weeks in some instances.

      1. Lol. I bought a 12 pack of beer for a poker tourney back in July and still have 9. My dad had drinking problems and it runs in the family so I have always been careful. I do enjoy a tall frosty one now and again but rarely drink any more. I quit smoking 5 years ago. Sadly, and those who have been around me at cons, know I still have one more gross vice left over from college I can’t shake. We can’t all be perfect but I accept it.

    2. Wow man. Wooky and I have talked a ton of times but this is the first I have heard this. I am glad to have you on board and glad to offer you a distraction. Thanks for all your hard work this year both outside and inside the site. Yes, DrunkWooky is actually DrunkWooky attorney at law (I did know that part)

  5. Thanks Tony and the other contributors as well.

    Let’s all have a great 2016!

Here is to a safe and healthy 2016!

Maybe this will be the year Tony shares a drink with me in good ole Chitown!!!

    Go BUCKEYES!

    GO BIG!

  6. Thanks for the site, Tony! Used to be my go-to comic site, now it’s just my go-to web page, period! Thanks also to the CHU contribution crew! I LOVE reading all your posts and predictions. Keep up the good work, boys! Happy New Year! Brett

  7. I love the work you guys do and it’s my must stop every day. I wish everyone a very healthy 2016. Happy New Year and many success!!!

  8. Top 5? Woot! Love this site. I’ve been on CBSI quite a bit, but this is like my first love. Thanks for everything you do Tony. And everyone else that jumps in on this site and gives good spec. We are a fast growing community and I’m loving every minute of it.

  9. After a six-year absence, I started buying comics again in May/June of this year. I decided I was going to try my hand more on the spec side of things and so I started visiting any online spec site I could find. This site was one.

Now, all these months later, and this site is one of two that I only visit regularly anymore (CBSI being the other). I like your site, it’s got good content and a good read. You don’t seem to have an agenda, just a general enthusiasm for comics and related stuff.

    Keep up the good work.

    1. Yeah, I really do not have an agenda. Just like to buy, sell, and read comics, the extra money on the side from selling is great, have been here for three years now and have no plans to stop

  10. Hopefully your numbers are even better next year, I know I’ll be here. This is one of my favorite sites.
