Wednesday Open Forum

Wednesday

Wednesday, the best day of the week, new comic book day. It is like your birthday in the middle of each week (well, one where you buy your own presents.)
We open things up to hear from you. A free for all.
The 104th edition of the open forum!
“Don’t mess with my Wednesdays”.
As always we also want to hear about your weekly pickups.
So, What were your pick ups?
What had disappeared off the shelves?
What was sitting on the shelves?
What back issue deals did you grab?

  1. Happy 104! Not sure what I will pick up tomorrow. I did go to my local shop today to pick up some back issues I have been wanting. I did find two copies of What if: Iron Man Daemon in an Armor. One for $7 and the other in for $10. Both NM condition, so I was happy with that! Hope that continues to grow. Looking through the What if’s I did find What if Ross became the Hulk. Not sure how much spec play could be on this one but if Red Hulk ever becomes a big “thing “(so to speak) this could gain more interest….just sayin. Sometimes my local dealer puts out surprises on the stands. This time he had undistributed copies of Incredible Hulk #209 &210…Avengers #179 and Iron Man #94, all in fairly high grade, about VF+, for original cover price (30 to 35 cents)! Can’t beat that! He doesn’t do that all the time but when he does it is fun! Now I’m gunna go read me some cheap, classic Marvel Bronze age!!!

  2. It’s a good book from the look of Dec previews the Green MK suit worn in Demon in a armor will be the suit infamous Ironman wears. 1st Venompool/ 1st Infamous Ironman definitely worth holding on to.

  3. My shop was scant on variants. I picked up:
    Walking Dead – both covers
    Moonshine – both covers
    Green Valley
I thought about Champions but passed for $5

  4. Angel City: I’m glad to see some noir books getting some love
Archie meets the Ramones: I love the Ramones, Hey Ho! Let’s go!
Batman #8: I hate “special events” that force you into buying books you’re not interested in.
    Eclipse #2
TriggerMan: I’m really looking forward to this and Peepland next week.
    James Bond #10
The Killer inside Me #2: I’ve never read the original novel. I’m going to do that very soon.
    Paper Girls #10
Shipwreck #1 Come on Ellis. Please stay on track..Please release these regularly….

  5. Moonshine X 2
    Hillbilly 1 2nd print
    Hillbilly 2 2nd print
Once our land 1 2nd print
    Girrion 1 X2
    Revolution 2 reg sub & 1:10

  6. So Logan (Wolverine 3) takes place in 2024. X23 not fully confirmed but the little girl has 2 claws instead of 3 so might as well be confirmed. I must of missed the comic in which X-23 was born in 2018, Fox has no respect for any timelines when it comes to their Marvel movies.

  7. So another good day.
This is the 1st marvel reboot where I got absolutely zero titles, I am beyond sick of them re starting series every 6 months. Done with marvel for a while. (except star wars and old man Logan which are really good).

  9. I made it to NYC and I’m sitting in the theater waiting to see the premiere of Shin Godzilla. So watch for my review. I also had the pleasure to swing by Midtown, very cool. Since my favorite local shop closed, Midtown has now become my main store since it provides discounts. The other closest shops in my neck of the woods don’t do this for us nerds who spend all our hard earn money on comics.

  10. Frankies packs like champs. These Black 1 CHU variants are perfect. Good job on getting with them for this variant Tony. Love it
