According to Deadline.com, the 2014 comic by Alyssa Milano, Hacktivist is being developed into a tv show for the CW network.
Copies of the first issue popped off eBay today, but there are copies available on Amazon for under $5.
From Deadline.com
Alyssa Milano’s 2014 graphic novel Hacktivist is heading to the small screen. The CW is developing a drama series adaptation of fast-paced cyber-thriller from the former Mistresses star, Covert Affairs creators/executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord, BOOM! Studios and CBS TV Studios.
Written by Corman and Ord, Hacktivist tells the story of Nate Graft and Ed Hiccox, two twenty-something best friends and co-founders of the most important social networking company in the world, who are recruited to work secretly for the CIA to bring about global social change. Using their fame and access as cover, and their technical prowess as a tool, Nate & Ed pull off risky missions, both foreign and domestic. But the arrangement is not without perils — Nate & Ed’s thirst for information freedom runs deep, begging the question, can the CIA trust them? And, more importantly, can Nate & Ed trust the CIA?
Milano, Corman and Ord executive produce alongside Ross Richie & Stephen Christy of BOOM! Studios. BOOM!’s Josh Levy co-executive produces. There are no current plans for Milano to act.
This joins several other Boom books that have been optioned for media deals, which includes Polarity by Max Bemis of Say Anything, which was announced last week at NYCC.
First arc was good…. I sorta lost interest on the second arc.
Polarity was a great read though.
I loved Polarity. But Yeah, Hacktivist fell off for me. But I am pretty sure I had it as a spec of the week a long time ago
The outside chance:
Hacktivist #1– Boom Studios / Archaia bring Alyssa Milano’s cyber-punk story to life. We get to find out who is the boss in this small press pick.

also from that week was…… Empire of the Dead #1– Zombies are still hot whether you love them or hate them, and no one does Zombies bigger than George Romero. The father of the modern zombie story brings the next chapter in his zombie movie series to comics.
I can’t wait for empire of the dead to be a tv series.
and…..
I purposefully left a book off my picks of the week this week. That book was DEADLY CLASS #1. I left it off because there are seven different variants for the book, and for an Image #1 that usually means a big print run. In addition to there being a standard A and B cover, there is a Forbidden Planet variant, an Eh! Variant (think Canadian Phantom or Ghost Variant), a Beachballs/Laughing Ogre Cover, Third Eye Comics Variant, and a DCBS Variant. I also left it off because I wanted to Spotlight one of the covers. The cover I picked up and wanted to Spotlight was the sweet looking Third Eye Variant by Harper Jayten. I have done well in the past selling their variants, and do most of my eBay sales on Phantom and Third Eye Variants.
This book has sold out and has been getting solid reviews overall, no matter what the cover, and could have potential, especially on the heels of Rick Remender’s other recent success Black Science.

all with media deals.
Any other issues of Deadly Class worth picking up? I was able to pick up a few issues of Deadly Class at a Hastings going out of business but was not able to find issue #1.
After seeing VanHelsing already was renewed for a season 2 I watched the first five episodes. Greatest show your not watching!!! Unlike the Strain this has more of a walking dead feel and less of a blade tv series feeling. Walking dead with vampires and a hero twist. I would watch out for 1st appearance of Vanessa Van Helsing, only thing going against this show is people don’t really warm up to the sci-fi network.
We ran the article on her first appearance a long while ago. I thought scy fy strayed away from the source material as well.

Damn, it’s hitting $35-40 already.
Sweet, time to go dig them out and dump them. 🙂
Yeah. I have to dig mine out too. Was not going to sell anything else this month.
I know, I’m so burned out and that’s just from my other crap I’m selling, the non comics stuff..
