THE DAKOIT SPECULATION HIT LIST (December 4th 2013)!

From our friend Dakoit at http://comicbookspeculation.blogspot.ca/

Well Everyone,

There has been some major development in terms of super hero/villain movie appearances in the last week. Again, I’m kind of pleasantly surprised my intuition paid off. I had first mentioned Ultron’s undervalued first appearance one week prior to the announcement for him to appear as the major villain in the next Avengers movie. And yesterday, the announcement that another major DC villian that I had speculated on couple months ago is now coming onto the big screen! I hope all of you capitalized on the pics! See below if you want more deets on the villain!

However, this is Wednesday…and you know what that means? Skipping jollily to your LCS! This week we see one of the slowest weeks in recent memory, with no huge #1’s coming out, no major characters making 1st appearnaces nor succumbing to tragic deaths. Nevertheless, we go because we love the artform that we so adoring horde or sell. So without further adieu… 🙂

In my constant quest to get you the most recent speculator info (In addition to my weekly in-depth blog columns) I thought I’d start a rapid post, and shoot out some recent books worth grabbing cheap if you can find them. Superman The Man of Steel #18

In closing,

This week was great for comic readers but a poor one for collectors and speculation. The two comics I chose this week are the best of the pile but still not must gets. My first pick, Hawken Melee#1 is a toss up. Comics based on video games (except recently, DC’s Injustice) aren’t after market scorchers (ie. Mass Effect, Gears of War) additionally it being a limited series, I wouldn’t go crazy with this one, just picking up a single copy will do.

Rover Red Charlie#1 has been getting luke warm reviews for writing, but art is gorgeous. I don’t see it being something in demand in the after market. In all honestly, there isn’t a huge market for anthropomorphized animal comics. If you rather pick up another comic to read, you can pass on this one. So that’s it folks. Easy peasy!

Oh! Have you got your MOS#18 yet?

Until next time….keep hunting my pannapictagraphists!

  1. I just snagged what looks to be at least 9.6 or better for $16 off eBay. I got my eyes set on a GCG 9.8 as well. I love me some Doomsday. I always liked Superman when I was a kid but it wasn’t until Doomsday I collected Superman comics back in the day.

I only had my Superman Action Comics #684 left over still that I kept. I sold the others long ago. Not even sure why I kept that one, probably cause I liked the cover art from it, classic matchup style cover. 🙂

  2. Hey Drew, I still have mine in 9.4+ condition since the 90’s when it first hit the shelves. Glad to see all the DD love. I am salivating at him being CGI’d in all his destructive glory!

  3. I missed out on the 9.8 GCG issue I was trying to nab, it went for $157.00. So I nabbed another 9.8 GCG that had a BIN for $159. So with the movie details coming out, I’m hoping these continue to rise in demand and more people come to appreciate a little Doomsday. 🙂

    1. Oh and a lot of the other BIN 9.4 or higher are being priced well above the $150 mark.. I did wish to find a decent issue with the retail UPC code but those aren’t as common.
