New Comic Spec Review Video for 2/15/17

Each week Terry Hoknes from www.hoknescomics.com and I get together for a video chat where we give our thumbs up/thumbs down review for new series releasing that week. Sometimes we agree on books, other times we don’t, but here is this weeks video.

  1. Great video and picks guys! Just wanted to mention the Jusko box corner variants. Deadpool sold out few weeks ago and Venom already sold out on Midtown for Wednesday.

  2. Very cool story at the end! Is this your “1st appearance” in a comic book? ?
Any time one of the Star Wars 40th Anniversary variants comes our it might be worth a mention.
The new Batwoman Rebirth #1 might do good long term, as most of the other Rebirth issues have done above average in the aftermarket. It will get overshadowed by Super Sons at first, but I think could find a good readership.
The Jusko box corner covers look great, some look outstanding.

    1. Yes it is, I have written many letters to comics but never published in them. Need to stop cussing at the creators in my emails I guess

      1. Wait, so my letter to Walking Dead (to confirm Alpha’s first appearance) beat all your previous letters to comic book creators? Now I feel special..

  3. Agree with comixbrainz on the Star Wars, like printing money for me at the moment!! But maybe people will be upping orders now, so that boat may have sailed.
Good video as usual guys, I like when you mention what will be a quick flip and what should be a long term hold, more of that in all posts please!! ??

    1. I think that the Star Wars 40th anniversary variants will end up being more of a long term hold.

      1. I thought so too, this quick flipping for a good profit is a bonus in reality. I ordered a spare Doctor Aphra #3, the first one, sold it for £22, again a bonus as I ordered it by accident! I’ll have two full sets by the end of the year, be interesting to see how that pans out.

  4. Rift was likely going to be one of my picks this week.. not based on your letter in it but because it’s just a great read.. 🙂

    1. It is silly since I have been reading comics for over 30 years. I have written a ton of comics a ton of times and never have been printed before. It made me happy when the writer emailed me. We had a good conversation on the book.
