#11 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 (MARVEL, 1992) Last week this first appearance of Spider-Man 2099 (via preview for his first issue) landed on the TOP 10 in spot #5. This week, it fell to the runner-up position, but it’s still selling like hot cakes. This week, it sold 42 copies, had a 7-day trend of 119% and had a high sale of $259.99 for a CGC 9.8.
#12 SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1 (MARVEL, 1992) We know 2099 will be featured in INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE #2. On the heels of his first appearance in ASM #365, collectors are also buying his first issue up. It sold 33 copies, had a 7-day trend of 130% and had a high sale of $100 for a CGC 9.8.
#13 CAPTAIN AMERICA #1 (MARVEL, 1996) This book started moving last week due to misinformation that this featured the first appearance of Rikki Barnes. She’s rumored to appear in FALCON & THE WINTER SOLDIER with her potentially taking on the NOMAD mantle. Her real first appearance is HEROES REBORN ½ by Wizard. Regardless, misinformation still helped move 21 copies of Captain America #1 with a 7-day trend of 206% and had a high sale of $35 for a RAW copy.
#14 DARK NIGHTS DEATH METAL #7 (DC, 2021) This awesome variant may be one of the best DEATH METAL has put out. It features both BATMAN WHO LAUGHS and ROBIN KING. It sold 49 copies, had a 7-day trend of 80% and had a high sale of $40.87 for a raw copy, though prices have since settled to $20.
#15 DAREDEVIL #25 (MARVEL, 2020) This first appearance of Elektra as Daredevil is still hanging in there. It sold 33 copies, had a 7-day trend of 107% and had a high sale of $245 for a CGC 9.8.
#16 SPAWN #1 (IMAGE, 1992) Spawn #1 9.8’s are moving up! Previously, these floated around $125… but no longer! This week, it sold 27 copies, had a 7-day trend of 116% and had a high sale of $185 for a CGC 9.8.
#17 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #362 (MARVEL, 1992) This issue features the 2nd full appearance of Carnage. As we get closer to FINALLY getting a VENOM 2 trailer, Carnage’s first full storyline is moving. It sold 16 copies, had a 7-day trend of 191% and had a high sale of $160 for a CGC 9.8.
#18 STAR WARS KANAN #1 (MARVEL, 2015) If you’re buying a ton of HIGH REPUBLIC, then hopefully you also have this issue. Both of these series are highly speculated on and may prove to be some of the most key issues for future Star Wars content. This first issue of KANAN sold 27 copies, had a 7-day trend of 93% and had a high sale of $294.99 for a CGC 9.8.
#19 DARTH VADER #3 (MARVEL, 2015) This first Doctor Aphra really picked up alongside the HIGH REPUBLIC in terms of price. Collectors are really going ALL-IN on Star Wars books. Her first issue sold 23 copies last week, had a 7-day trend of 114% and had a high sale of $449.99 for a CGC 9.8.
#20 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #55 PAT GLEASON VIRGIN (MARVEL, 2020) Man, did this book explode! The regular edition, 2nd print, and 2nd print variant have somehow both spiked prices and also turned collectors away. It’s a weird mix. This virgin was the main book collectors sought after. It sold 18 copies, had a 7-day trend of 138% and had a high sale of $599 for a CGC 9.8 pre-order. Though frustrations with a 2nd print caused a little bit of fatigue. However, no worries. This virgin will retain its value for the foreseeable future.
#12 should specify direct copy. Newsstands are somewhat scarce in high grade, and sells for about 3x more in 9.8.
I bought a raw 9.8 newsy for $50 a few years back but knew it had a shot….came back 9.8.
A newsstand for this cover may actually be more rare than the 2nd print/Walmart variant in 9.8…
