THE ELECTRIC BLACK is now in development as an adult cartoon TV series with STARBURNS INDUSTRIES

Scout Comics & Entertainment Holdings Inc. is proud to announce that THE ELECTRIC BLACK, created, written, and illustrated by Joseph Schmalke and Rich Woodall, is in development as a horror cartoon with producers Mike Griffin, Paul Young (Make Good Content) and James Fino from Starburns Industries Inc.

The characters and concepts first appear in the Electric Black Preview Book followed by the full release in Electric Black #1

The Electric Black is a cursed antique shop, appearing in any time or space, soliciting customers it hungers to corrupt or devour. The mysterious Julius Black is the store’s demonic proprietor. He, along with his psychopathic employees, regularly manipulate patrons for their own devious purposes. Inside this eerie emporium, all of the forbidden objects have secrets to unlock. The poor souls that enter never leave without something. Its dark light will shine on macabre mysteries, grisly murders, and other frightful occurrences.

Starburns Industries is an innovative and imaginative full-service production company, specializing in stop-motion, traditional 2D, and CG animation as well as live-action production. Starburns is a creator-driven studio, whose founders are responsible for the creation of Adult Swim series like “Moral Orel”, “Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole” and “Rick & Morty”; as well as the Academy Award nominated animated film “Anomalisa” and the upcoming Netflix animated feature film “Bubbles”.

Scout Comics & Entertainment Holdings, Inc. launched in October 2015 to immediate critical acclaim.   1. This is amazing to me. This comic book was a rip off of the Friday the 13th television show, and now it’s getting a television show.

        1. Lol. I am not in the naming business. But it is very similar to Friday the 13th the TV series. And way back when the book came out I even mentioned it. I did like the show a lot.

  2. My LCS just told me for his Diamond Account DC books that take place for dates after Future State dates are back on Diamond and not listed on Lunar. Looks like DC is going back to Lunar but there’s no news anywhere. Dunno??? But he said he could order DC books through Diamond again that are not on Lunar.

  3. Scout puts out some decent books, but it feels like every couple of months they “announce” that something of theirs has been picked up for development. Then critics. That combined with the “limited” print runs that never seem to run out just doesn’t rub me the right way. Best of luck to them, I want small press guys to succeed in big ways, but it just seems like a conveyor belt of pump-and-dump with them.
