Every week, hundreds of new books hit the stands, each with potential. We pick the ones we think have the best shot at heating up. Here are the picks of the week for delivery 5/26/21
Big week, but not a huge spec week. Here is what is on tap .

Notable Reprints
Batman Fortnite Zero Point #2 2nd Ptg – These codes have been making money. I am not gonna pass up the opportunity to sell more codes.
Nightwing #79 2nd Ptg – Fun cover on this cameo appearance of Heartless
Stray Dogs #3 Cover C 2nd Ptg – Such a great series. Trust me, the dogs do not want to find out what happens in punishment.
The Rise #1 Cover B 2nd Ptg – New Romero (well his son) zombie story telling a prequel to his father’s work. Great book.
Cover of the Week
X-Men #20 Mike Del Mundo Cover – I mentioned this on the forum a long time ago. Just a fun cover and not something that you see all the time from Marvel.
Small Press Pick of the Week
Taarna #1 2nd Ptg Peach Momoko Variant – the standard cover was available directly through Heavy Metal’s website and several retailer websites. Retailers could order the Virgin Variant directly through website, but only by retailers, so many places will not get these. Could be a hard to find book, especially for fans of Momoko. Sets are being listed up to $30, with sales in the $17 range. Could be one that once the word gets out….
Pick of the Week
Milestone Returns Infinite Edition #0 (One Shot) – Milestone is returning and older fans could not be more happy. This is a grab and hold. This one shot features twenty-four all-new pages chronicling the events of the Big Bang: the police-brutality protest gone wrong that changed the face of the city of Dakota forever by unleashing a wave of superpowers across its population! As the world watches, a bullied teenager will become the hero known as Static a framed scientist will go on the run as the superweapon Hardware and a stranded alien will meet an ambitious young woman who will transform his life, and remake the pair as the all-powerful Icon and Rocket! Also included is the 17-page primer story originally released online during the world-famous DC Fandome event, further expanding on our heroes origins and where they âre going next and setting up an entire world of allies, enemies, and surprises! The original Milestone changed the face of superhero comics forever, introducing the industry to a wave of Black talent who still shape the conversation and the new Milestone intends to raise the bar! This is the perfect jumping-on point
That X-Men 20 cover has a good concept to it. I like that in a cover.
Now if it can just take off so that Marvel can rehash it over and over 20 times…
