As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.
#11 CAPTAIN MARVEL #17 | MARVEL | 2004
It’s been long speculated that Phyla-Vell, the cloned daughter of Mar-vell, would possibly appear in the MCU (specifically in GUARDIAN OF THE GALAXY: VOL. 3). While there’s been absolutely no confirmation, nor any set-up to introduce the character in the near future, speculation has been re-ignited from new speculation chatter. This renewed interest made collectors rush online to buy Phyla-Vell’s first full appearance. It sold 14 copies last week, had a 7-day trend of 206%, and had a high sale of $135 for a CGC 9.6. It also had multiple raw sales over $100 this week, with once hitting a high of $125!
#12 MOON KNIGHT #3 | MARVEL | 2021
As mentioned in previous weeks, this issue features the first appearance of Hunter’s Moon. It’s unknown where or how Marvel will take this character, but either way, they set him up to play a close role to Marc Spector. It holds a spot on this week’s list with 22 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 140%, and had a high sale of $133.50 for a CGC 9.8
#13 HOUSE OF SLAUGHTER #1 ALVARO MARTINEZ BUENO VIRGIN (1:50) | BOOM! | 2021
Yep, more HOUSE OF SLAUGHTER. However, with so many covers out there, it could have easily been way more. With that said, the copies that trended the most were the most accessible… yet also the copies that disappeared days or weeks before shops opened up last Wednesday. This 1:50 sold 41 copies, had a 7-day trend of 71% and had a high sale of $60 for a raw copy. However, the current raw FMV is $27.
#14 NOVA #1 | MARVEL | 1976
Along with Sam Alexander, speculation is also expecting Richard Rider’s Nova to also appear in the MCU in the near future. Even Kevin Feige himself has publicly spoken about his high interest to include this particular Nova Corp member. His first sold 18 copies, had a 7-day trend of 109%, and had a high sale of $675 for a CGC 9.6.
#15 SUPERMAN SON OF KAL-EL #2 | DC | 2021
As noted, this first appearance of Jon Kent’s new love interest Jay Nakamura is still on fire, despite falling off of the Top 10 this week, with 25 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 106%, and a high sale of $33 for a raw copy.
#16 SUPERMAN SON OF KAL-EL #2 INHYUK LEE | DC | 2021
Following the standard cover, this variant for Jay’s first appearance also fell off the list this week with 17 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 148%, and had a high sale of $35 for a raw copy with a FMV of $25.
#17 KING SPAWN #3 BJORN BARENDS SUPERHERO VARIANT | IMAGE | 2021
This cover features kids dressed up like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Captain America. This is the first time the characters have ever been referenced on a Spawn cover, making it an instant must-have for Spawn fans. #18 GUNSLINGER SPAWN #1 GREG CAPULLO SKETCH (1:50) | IMAGE | 2021
While Spawn variants are a little more available these days than there were in the early 2000s, collectors do seek these 1:50 and 1:100 Spawn sketch variants. Luckily, they’re not too expensive. This variant sold 28 copies, had a 7-day trend of 84%, and had a high sale of $43 for a raw copy.
#19 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992
Spawn, Covrprice’s #1 best-selling title, holds a place on this week’s list with 19 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 111%, and had a high sale of $350 for a CGC 9.8.
#20 WARLOCK AND THE INFINITY WATCH #1 | MARVEL | 1992
No longer a dollar book, this 90’s staple is having its best month ever. Due to being the cheapest and more accessible Warlock book, it made this week’s list again by moving 25 copies, had a 7-day trend of 81%, and had a high sale of $52 for a CGC 9.4, though the FMV for raw copies is $14.
