As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.
#11 THE ETERNALS #5 | MARVEL | 1976
This week’s Top 10 features several key ETERNALS books. One of the most ignored by the market was this issue, featuring the first appearance of Makkari, Thena, Zuras, and Domo. While Zuras and Domo are not featured in the film (Ajak took the leader role instead of Zuras), Makkari and Thena play pivotal roles in the film. While it hit a high sale of $911 for a 9.8 back in 2018 (when rumors first began), this book moved very slowly in the aftermarket. With the film finally released, collectors were more motivated to buy this key issue and helped 25 copies move with a 7-day trend of 87%, and a high sale of $610 for a CGC 9.8.
#12 VENOM LETHAL PROTECTOR #1 | MARVEL | 1993
As seen from VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE, Venom has officially taken on the name of LETHAL PROTECTOR. This origination of the moniker sold 25 copies, had a 7-day trend of 123%, and had a high sale of $177.50 for a CGC 9.8.
#13 BLACK WIDOW #12 | MARVEL | 2021
This Adam Hughes cover is still trending due to it featuring the first appearance of two new characters; The Host and The Living Blade. These first appearances helped this issue sell 28 copies, had a 7-day trend of 132%, and had a high sale of $20.45 for a raw copy.
#14 X-MEN #95 | MARVEL | 1999
This issue features the first appearance of the Skrull named Fiz, whom many are speculating will be played by actor Killian Scott. This is the second speculated (and obscure) Skrull to move their first appearance in the aftermarket (the other was Paibok the Power Skrull). Fiz’s first appearance sold 17 copies (down from 58 last week), had a 7-day trend of 200%, and had a high sale of $30 for a raw copy.
#15 OLD HAUNTS #1 | AWA | 2020
It was recently reported by Variety that “Artists, Writers, and Artisans (AWA) has tapped Aaron Rabin to adapt its graphic fiction series “Old Haunts.” This marks the second feature film project from AWA Studios, the recently launched film, and TV studio arm for AWA. This is the first project announced that the company is financing development internally. AWA Studios’ President Zach Studin will produce the picture.” This news helped 18 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 179%, and had a high sale of $22.99 for a raw copy.
#16 MOON KNIGHT #3 | MARVEL | 2021
As mentioned in previous weeks, this issue features the first appearance of Hunter’s Moon. It’s unknown where or how Marvel will take this character, but either way, they set him up to play a close role to Marc Spector. It holds a spot on this week’s list with 38 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 81%, and had a high sale of $160 for a CGC 9.8.
#17 BATMAN/ FORTNITE FOUNDATION #1 | DC | 2021
DC’s highly successful partnership with Fortnite is back with this new Foundation series. All issues sold well across the board, following the same pattern the first partnership had earlier in the year. However, this particular issue provides a code to download The Batman Who Laughs Outfit, back bling, glider, and harvesting tool (which costs 2200 v-bucks/ $15ish real-world money). It sold 32 copies, had a 7-day trend of 84%, and had a high sale of $20 for a raw copy.
#18 NOVA #1 | MARVEL | 2013
Speculation is still holding out that the Sam Alexandar version of Nova will appear in the MCU as soon as the next Guardians of the Galaxy film. With his first appearance already hot in Marvel Point One #1 (2011), collectors are already jumping onto his first ongoing series. It sold 22 copies, had a 7-day trend of 121%, and had a high sale of $24.99 for a raw copy
#19 MOON KNIGHT #1 | MARVEL | 1980
Moon Knight’s anticipation continues to increase. The first issue for his first ongoing series sold 19 copies, had a 7-day trend of 123%, and had a high sale of $920 for a CBCS 9.8.
#20 HOUSE OF SLAUGHTER #1 CHRIS SHEHAN 1 PER STORE | BOOM | 2021
Of course, House of Slaughter’s virgin one-per-store variant falls from the #1 spot last week to #20. These were very tough to get in person as copies were most likely claimed weeks in advance. Collectors had to turn to online sales and helped move 31 copies with a 7-day trend of 76% and had a high sale of $47.62 for a raw copy.
