CovrPrice.Com Runners-Up for Week of 11/4/22

As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.

#11 STAR WARS: VISIONS #1 TAKASHI OKAZAKI 2022 NYCC THE COMIC CORNER (LIMITED 800) | MARVEL | 2022
Star Wars: Visions is a new animated take on the Star Wars universe, seen on Disney+. The episode that this comic cover was based on is one of the highest-rated of one-shot stories. Shared with the A cover, this cover was already a beauty to behold. However, the NYCC exclusive removed the trade dress and, with a lower print run (800), effectively made it that much more desirable. We tracked 15 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 96%, with a high sale of $345 for a raw copy, and FMV for a raw NM copy is $244.

#12 SPAWN #1 | IMAGE | 1992
Todd McFarlane is a legend in the comic book world. However, he’s also a marketing legend. Todd McFarlane knows how to keep his fans engaged and anticipating the next big announcement. A few weeks ago, we learned that the Spawn movie finally has some writers behind the project, and it also looks like it will be a much bigger production than anticipated. Additionally, the Deadline for the in-house CGC McFarlane signing is coming up (Nov. 12)! We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 120% with a high sale of $252 for a CGC 9.8. An FMV for a raw NM copy is $29.

#13 DEADLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #1 PEACH MOMOKO (1:25) | MARVEL | 2022
Last week, this book was in spot 17. This week, we see interest in the Momoko covers as it rises to #13. We tracked 20 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 107%, with a high sale of $33 for a raw copy. FMV for a raw NM copy runs $18.

#14 BATMAN AND ROBIN #1 FRANK QUITELY | DC | 2009
While Batman #666 debuts a different version entirely of Professor Pyg, this version of the villain is the most recognizable. The psychotic doctor takes his victims and makes them into Dollotrons. Matt Reeves has already expressed interest in several Batman villains, one of them being Professor Pyg. This deranged villain would fit well into the psychological/ detective thriller environment of Reeves’ THE BATMAN. We tracked 12 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 170%, with a high sale of $25 for NM+ raw copy.

#15 STAR WARS: DARTH VADER #3 | MARVEL | 2015
Doctor Aphra has been growing in popularity since her debut. She is a phenomenal character and gives a fresh perspective to the Star Wars lore. Also, since the Book of Boba Fett, rumors have been around that a bounty hunter show is in the works. Nevertheless, her first appearance has always been a great issue to collect! We tracked 18 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 108%, with a high sale of $300 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM runs $106.

#16 STAR TREK #1 DAVID AJA COVER C | IDW | 2022
The new Star Trek ongoing series was released last week and is already gaining decent traction. Specifically, cover C by David Aja has captured a lot of attention. This cover provides collectors with a retro/vintage look at the USS Enterprise. The minimalistic style and color contrast make it an eye-catching piece. We tracked 14 copies sold, a 7-day trend of 132%, and had a high sale of $15 for a raw copy. An FMV for a raw NM copy is $13.

#17 GEIGER #1 GARY FRANK GLOW IN THE DARK | IMAGE | 2021
Cover A of Geiger has made it into the top 10 for a second week. Likewise, the Glow-in-the-Dark cover has remained on the runner-up list for a second week. Spec behind this book continues to drive sales! We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 143%, with a high sale of $55 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $10.

#18 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #252 | MARVEL | 1984
Ever since the end-credit scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have begun to buy key issues of Spider-Man’s black symbiote suit. Although some may collect MARVEL TEAM-UP #141 or SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #90, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 252 predates these two issues. We tracked 10 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 128%, with a high sale of $449.99 for a CGC 9.6. FMV for a raw NM copy is $237.

#19 JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #1 | DC | 2006
Love it or hate it, Black Adam is an integral part of the DC Extended Universe. This movie not only shined a spotlight on Black Adam but also several members of the Justice Society. This particular issue holds a couple of first appearances, cameo appearances, and cover appearances. We won’t go into detail about the character spoilers of the movie; however, this issue of Justice Society holds the most appearances of any of the other first issues (1992 and 2022). We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 103%, with a high sale of $89.99 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for an NM raw copy is $12.

#20 WOLVERINE #1 | MARVEL | 1982
“I’m the best there is at what I do.” Weapon X first coined this famous line in this first solo series, aptly titled: Wolverine. This is his first solo series, and it was limited to four issues. Since the announcement that Wolverine would be in Deadpool 3, fans have searched for key issues of the berserker-crazed Canadian. While a Hulk 181 (or 180) may be out of reach for some fans, this issue is a much easier-to-obtain collectible item. We tracked 12 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 103%, with a high sale of $780 for a CGC 9.8. FMV for a raw NM copy is $125.
