As promised, the Covrprice.com runners-up list. The second half of the Top 20.
11. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG’S 900TH ADVENTURE #1 – JONATHAN GRAY – COVER RI (1:50)
Sonic is celebrating 900 adventures, and everyone is all for it! Last year, we celebrated Sonic’s 50th issue, and the 1:50 retailer incentive took off like a rocket. This year, we’re celebrating 900 adventures of the speedster and the 1:50 incentive for this issue is taking off just as quickly. Jonathan Gray delivers an excellent cover worthy of a tribute to the legendary hedgehog. Congrats Ogilvie Maurice! (aka Sonic’s real name, not kidding… look it up) We tracked 8 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 220%, with a high sale of $250 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $155.
12. CREEPSHOW VOL 2 #1 – SKINNER – CONNECTING (1:10)
This book is already making waves less than a week after its release. Horror comics in the pre-code era have seen their fair share of interest lately. Modern horror books have also had a rising interest in the past year. Books with phenomenal covers will be highly coveted as the horror genre grows. Skinner provides a truly nostalgic pallet of colors in this memorable launch of CREEPSHOW Vol. 2. Anyone want to shine this under a blacklight? We tracked 26 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 94%, with a high sale of $15 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $10.
13. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN VOL.1 #365 – DIRECT
Regarding ads counting as a first appearance, fans will continue to debate books to the end of time. This issue depicts a preview of SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1. Does this count as his first appearance? Regardless of where you fall on the debate, both AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 and SPIDER-MAN 2099 #1 are easier-to-find books and affordable for most collectors. So why not just grab both? We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 108%, with a high sale of $169.95 or a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $14.
14. WEB OF SPIDER-MAN VOL.1 #1
Black-suit Spider-Man has been the talk of the town lately. Fan speculation has been at an all-time high since No Way Home introduced the symbiote into the MCU (and we have VERY little MCU-related to spec on right now). This book is one of Spidey’s most iconic black suit covers. It depicts the stark difference between a friendly neighborhood red and black spandex-wearing hero swinging through buildings and the imposing, frightening posture of a hunter who stalks the night. What an awesome book! This more affordable early black suit appearance trended with 14 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 138%, with a high sale of $139 for a CGC 9.8 copy with a raw NM FMV of $29.
15. MOON KNIGHT VOL.1 #1
While this book has fallen from its record highs in 2022, it still is a highly desired collector’s item. While it may not be Moon Knight’s first appearance, his first solo series still sports a beautiful and recognizable cover. Fans of Moon Knight find this book much more attainable than tracking down a WEREWOLF BY NIGHT #32. We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 81%, with a high sale of $405 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $35.
16. WOLVERINE #1
Here is another book that is benefiting from the Deadpool 3 production. This isn’t to say that Wolverine wasn’t a popular character already. However, seeing Hugh Jackman in a full, comic-accurate Wolverine costume was all fans needed to begin collecting Logan’s books again. His first appearance may be out of reach for many, but his first solo series book still sports a great cover. We tracked 22 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 86%, with a high sale of $414.99 for a CGC 9.8 copy and a raw NM FMV of $56.
17. ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4
There is only so much we can say about Miles Morales. Since his debut, he has been a breakout star in the Spider-Verse. His character was created as an alternate universe version of Spider-Man. Through tall-tale comic book events, universes collided, and he became a part of the mainstream comic book universe. Miles has debuted in successful animated films and video games. It is only a matter of time before he takes his rightful place in the MCU. Huh, it turns out we can say a lot more… We tracked 18 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 97%, with a high sale of $1,680 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $432.
18. THE NEW MUTANTS VOL.1 #98
The merc with a mouth is a classic among superhero characters. His quick wit and wall-breaking quips made him a standout character among your typical Boy Scout heroes. Fans of Deadpool rejoiced when it was announced that Deadpool 3 would be the official migration of Deadpool into the MCU. However, production has since stalled, and until it is back up again, people are tracking down this highly valued collectible. We tracked 13 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 131%, with a high sale of $550 for a CGC 9.6 copy and a raw NM FMV of $402.
19. THE UNCANNY X-MEN VOL.1 #266
Whether you are an X-MEN ANNUAL #14 collector, you can’t argue that this book has the best cover for the ragin’ cajun. Since the announcement of Deadpool 3, the movie has created vast amounts of cameo rumors. One of those rumors is that of Channing Tatum, set to debut as Gambit. If you recall, this was a rumor from back in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine days. However, that rumor has survived and is now pulling this book along the top ranks! Recently, we tracked 17 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 99%, with a high sale of $825 for a CGC 9.8 and a raw NM FMV of $148.
20. MARVEL AGE #98
While most of the previous weeks have seen Toxic Avenger’s origin (and first solo series) take the spotlight, this week, we see his first appearance rise the ranks! The Toxic Avenger had fallen into production limbo. For the most part, most people didn’t think the movie would ever get produced. However, this past month brought news and a promo poster! With a steadfast release date, the Toxic Avenger is back on everyone’s radar! We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 126%, with a high sale of $207.70 for a raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $30.
