RUNNERS-UP
#11 STAR WARS: THRAWN – ALLIANCES #4 – E.M GIST (1:25) | MARVEL | 2024
This four-issue mini-series has been doing well with major Thrawn fans. It’s the comic adaptation of a novel by the same name, featuring a storyline focusing on the duality of Anakin and Vader and where Admiral Thrawn fits in. It’s a world-builder for Marvel, and fans have been enjoying it. This 1:25 variant from E.M. Gist nails that internal fight that Anakin, and later Vader, suffered. We tracked 13 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 46%, with a high sale of $88 for an NM raw copy and a current raw NM FMV of $54.
#12 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: THE LAST RONIN #1 – KEVIN EASTMAN – COVER RI-A (1:10) | IDW PUBLISHING | 2020
The Last Ronin has been getting a ton of love lately with the announcement of a live-action adaptation, a video game, and potentially an animated adaptation. It’s spawned a sequel series and has been considered some of the best Turtles content in years. Of course, the fanbase was all over this book when it dropped, being a variant from the great Kevin Eastman himself. It also features the first appearance of Casey Maries Jones and Oroku Hiroto, the grandson of Shredder. With the recent news, fans have opted to revisit this coveted 1:10 variant. We tracked ten copies sold at a 7-day trend of 49%, with a high sale of $140 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $39.
#13 THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN VOL. 1 #300 – DIRECT | MARVEL | 1988
What would this list be without the appearance of Venom (or the black suit, etc)? It’s routine but still speaks to the sentiments of the aftermarket. Venom is one of the most beloved characters of all time, with a current run that fans are enjoying. There will always be demand for his first appearance, and last week’s demand was high! We tracked 26 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 4%, with a high sale of $995 for a CGC 9.6 and a current raw NM FMV of $520
#14 WORLD OF WOOD #1 | ECLIPSE | 1986
We have yet ANOTHER Dave Stevens cover as the community collectively puts his books on the front page of lists like this all over the internet. He’s experiencing something of a renaissance as fans steadily pick up some of his most famous works. That includes this book, often pointed to as one that defines his style in a nutshell. His books have been hot lately, and that doesn’t appear to be slowing down! We tracked copies with a high raw sale of $125 and a NM FMV of $91.
#15 THE INCREDIBLE HULK #11 – ARTHUR ADAMS (1:25) | MARVEL | 2024
We’ve made it to a pivotal battle for the emerald giant, and Art Adams was up to the challenge to commemorate the occasion! This 1:25 variant was the highest ratio available, and it’s where collectors have turned their focus. While this Hulk run isn’t making waves, it’s not being panned either, with dedicated fans picking up copies routinely. Add a little Art into the mix and you have some heavy aftermarket movement! We tracked 27 copies sold with a high sale of $52 raw and current raw NM FMV of $30.
#16 GEIGER 80 PAGE GIANT #1 – GARY FRANK – REGULAR | IMAGE | 2022
Last week, Red Coat was featured on our Top Ten list as the community has embraced the immortal character from Ghost Machine. Of course, when a new character joins the spotlight, fans often revisit their first appearance, which happens to be this book. It flew under the radar initially before getting some traction, and with the lore steadily growing now, fans have opted to revisit the series and keep that momentum going! We tracked 19 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 40%, with a high sale of $40 for a raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $25
#17 ALIEN WORLDS Vol. 1 #2 | PACIFIC COMICS | 1983
What do you know, another Dave Stevens cover?! Seriously though, it’s like the community just discovered Dave Stevens and has been hitting the aftermarket like crazy trying to secure his work. This book features another classic Stevens cover, a dame in space kicking ass! There is a ton more work out there for fans to explore, but this book leads collectors down a rabbit hole. We tracked 21 copies sold, at a 7-day trend of 22%, with a high sale of $36 for a raw NM copy and a raw NM FMV of $15
#18 THE UNCANNY X-MEN Vol. 1 #221 – DIRECT | MARVEL | 1987
The first appearance of Mr. Sinister has been hot since it was revealed he would be a major player in X-Men 97’. It’s maintained its spot on these lists for several weeks as more fans revisit the classic X-Men villain. Not to mention the rumors he may appear in live action in an upcoming MCU project, with Javier Bardem playing the role. If that comes to pass, this book could hit all new heights. We tracked 20 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 43%, with a high sale of $100 for a raw NM copy and a current raw NM FMV of $43
#19 NEW X-MEN Vol. 1 #114 – DIRECT EDITION | MARVEL | 2001
**SPOILER ALERT** This book is trending for two reasons. The first is that while the MCU doesn’t have the X-Men yet, we are getting one of the most iconic in Wolverine. He’s pairing up with Deadpool to get up to some shenanigans, and it wouldn’t be a superhero flick without a villain. Cue Cassandra Nova, the sort of twin of Charles Xavier rumored to be the villain in Deadpool & Wolverine. She’s also theorized to be the major villain behind the scenes in X-Men 97’, which leads us to the second reason. That utterly traumatizing and brilliantly written third act of Episode 5, where we see Genosha destroyed, ripped right from the pages of this book. Patience is required with this one, but the aftermarket isn’t holding back; instead, they are picking up copies at a good clip! We tracked 31 copies sold with a CBCS 9.8 high sale of $144 and a raw NM FMV of $20
#20 ALIEN WORLDS #4 | PACIFIC COMICS | 1983
We got another classic Dave Stevens cover and another riser! It’s been incredible to see the rapid rise in movement for Dave Stevens’s books, but not all that surprising. He’s been underrated for a long time and now appears to be getting the respect he deserves. These books were beyond cheap for a long time, and now that trend is steadily reversing. We tracked 15 copies sold at a 7-day trend of 17%, with a high sale of $395 for a CGC 9.8 and a current raw NM FMV of $43.
