Wednesday One to Watch: Justice League #40

UGHHH. I had a post in pending status for Wednesday, based off a Monday conversation with Mel The Movie Guy that I though hit that didn’t. So changing it up.
Justice League #40 out (this past) Wednesday is one to look out for. I usually shy away from DC books, but this one is definitely one to keep an eye out on. Not only does it start the Darkseid War story line, but it also has the first appearance of an interesting new character.
Grail is the Daughter of Darkseid. She first appeared in this Wednesday’s Justice League #40. Previously it was only sons that Darkseid was known for, Kalibak and Orion. Her next appearance will be in this weekend’ FCBD book Divergence. Worth picking up, especially a non-stamped copy (if you can find them.)
There seems to be a lot of buzz on this book.

    1. There’s a whtie box on most or all of the FCBD issues where stores will stamp them to basically advertise where one got the comic.

      1. Some stores do not stamp all of theirs so they can sell them on eBay as well. Some stores don’t stamp at all. One year a store I know used address label stickers. i passed on them and did not buy from them either

    1. LCS stamp the FCBD books with they’re logo/address. It’s hard finding unstamped books.

  1. Midtown still has these available. The combo packs are already sold out for next week on Midtown and other sites.

  2. Lucky for me something in my brain told me to pick up 5 copies yesterday strictly because of they showed Grail on the last page. I hadn’t thought about it being a 1st appearance, I just thought she looked really cool. Also didn’t click in my brain that her last quote bubble says, “My father Darkseid.” Guess it was a brain fart. But question, regular cover, movie cover or incentive? I don’t need to ask about combo pack because we all know those are already going up.

  3. Missed it on Wednesday as well. Was able to go back last night and pick up a few, including the 1:25 variant for a good price. Folks probably too focused on Bats 40 to notice right away… which by the way, according to the owner at that store, sold out in about 2 hours… despite a 1 per copy limit.

  4. Didn’t know where to post this so hope it’s ok here…
So which are the best books to pick up tomorrow for FCBD? Or aren’t any of these books typically worth the while to seek out? This will be my first FCBD. I’ve been out of the comic book scene for a good many years.
