They cancelled all his future variants. The Spider-Woman variant will be released and I think it will be super hot.
About 6 months ago,Bought 4 copies Ms. Marvel # 1 (all Vf to Nm !!)for a total of 10.00…what a steal,from a seller online. Just flipped 2 of them ..1 for 85.00 and the other for 60.00 ! Will hold onto Nm copy and sell the other one soon…..

I don’t usually buy toys but I did pick up a Walter White PX Reviews 6″ Figure today as well. I love me some Breaking Bad!
I started collecting the Funko Reaction horror figures and have expanded out to the Universal monster figures and the Aliens and Predator figures. They are all carded like old Star Wars figures and are to scale of the Star Wars figures. Even got the NYCC 8 bit Freddy and Jason ones now. 20 carded horror figures on my book shelf in my office (4 year old wants to open and play with them so off to work they went)

Two shops didn’t have the Wytches display variant. I’m checking one more shop today. Luckily I ordered one from Grahamcrackers though.
I left him a few copies on the shelf and told him he may want to grab them and hold onto them.
Austin Books had them, picked up two. Also had the Tooth and Claw display variant so picked up one of those as well. Went ahead and picked up another 2nd print of #1 as well.

I believe Austin Books had a walk-in limit of 1 Rafael Albuquerque-variant per customer. I called their sister store in Waco and they weren’t getting it. Luckily, I pre-ordered a couple of copies last week in the event this happened.
I was able to grab two of them, they didn’t seem to mind or notice. They only had about 6 total, several with a nice spine stress crease. They’re selling them still eBay for $11.99 but for cover price at the store (which they usually don’t do, guess they were feeling nice this round).
I was able to grab more display variants as well. 🙂
My LCS sold all 25 Wytches on eBay last night for face value 🙁

Might happen one day. I use to moderate at the Linuxquestions.org forums long ago. We managed to get all of the moderators and some users at 3 different Linux World Expo’s (more than that in total but I only went to 3).. some of the guys came all the way from Europe.. was a blast!

Hahaha. I’m originally from Southern California so I am iron clad against being bothered by traffic. My commute from home to work used to be 2 hours long. I only lived about 40 miles from work with freeways going in every direction.
Wow. That sucks. The other doen side to being in this area is housing prices are rediculous.
My work is 6 miles away and takes me 10 minutes (8 minutes if I hit all the green lights). I only have to deal with drivers who think they can text while driving.
Im driving now. No, just kidding. I dont comment and drive.
Haha.. the sad part is, most of the people who do text and drive make it so obvious. They probably can’t drive correctly with both hands on the wheel. Well, starting first of the year in 2015, Austin has banned all electronic devices while driving (except unless it’s windshield mounted as in GPS unit, etc). Not even allowed to use it as a phone. Only hands free allowed while using your phone. I see the blue tooth stereos making a big boost in sales come next year after they can start ticketing people who think Facebook and LOL’s are more important than other people safety. 🙁
Reading comics while driving is perfectly acceptable though.. no digital though. 😉

I passed on the Spider-Verse myself. I’m getting enough of that story in Amazing Spider-Man now.. I did pick up Iron Man, curious on whether it’s going to be any good or not.
@Kelly, Nothing great about Spider-Verse. 4-5 separate stories just introducing the verse. Spider-gwen is in it for a panel or two but says nothing at all. Superior looked cool but I don’t know how I feel about streamlined evil Tony Stark/Iron Man. He looks like what Daft Punk will look like in 20 years.
Is anyone willing to sell a Wytches #2 Display Variant or possibly pick one up for me at their LCS? Just wondering.

Thanks Kelly! When I went on the bay earlier there were only a few at the time and the prices definitely reflected that. Was able to find some really quickly at a better price about 5 minutes ago.

That’s still a pretty good price considering finding a shop that even has them is a task in itself. Plus, who knows, this variant might be the creme of this issue. Might end up adding a 0 to the end of that when it’s time to flip them.

Met the ComicXposure guys at NYCC. Super cool and super accommodating. If you ever see a shorter Filipino guy with a good stack in his hands on release day, chances are very high that’s me. Hahaha
comic book store (in Miami) opened at 11:00 by 11:10 Wytches #1 second print was GONE!!!! midtowncomics GONE too, this book is not going to slow down!, i seen the first Wytches nycc signed on Ebay, listed for $550 or some number close to that, it lasted less than 12 hours!!!
a few i submitted are supposed to show up tomorrow, i don’t want to go online and look at the grades, the waiting is killing MEEEEE!!! LOL

WOOW nice, i have 3 books that are 10.0 and each time i walk by them i still can’t believe it, Extinction Parade #1 Red-Silver-Gold, each one got 10.0, the guys from CGC told me that leather covers usually get 10.0 or 9.9 because they don’t get any stress on the spine, but that Humans #0 looks beautiful !!!!
Wonder if mine could grade that high? The two I got are in awesome condition, I can’t spot anything wrong with them and I’m pretty picky and hard on my own comics when grading them.

I’d figure most shops are use to such activities. I search the stacks not only if any variants got hidden between the others but also trying to pick out the issues with the least banged up corners and no spine stress creases, etc.
I do the same and almost never keep the copy the put in my subscription file. And my lcs is great at picking good copies
My local shop is pretty good as well but they also provide all new comics with bags and boards (unless you don’t want a bag and board with it).
It’s only occasionally I have to put one back to pick from the shelves.
The other shops don’t bag and board, I search every issue with those for the most part.
I have one shop who keeps everything behind the counter and you have to ask for it if it’s not in your stack. He doesn’t bag and board either. The other guy doesn’t bag and board on Wednesdays so you grab it off the shelf but when you bring it to the counter he puts it in a bag and boards it
Asking each time to see a comic would be annoying. I wouldn’t do that as a shop owner cause I’d hate to be bothered like that, I could be getting other things done instead of being a the middle man.
Yeah, it’s interesting how that shop works, just the one guy and sometimes numerous people standing around waiting for their pull list – I don’t go there if I’m in a hurry. He’s a good guy though and usually cuts you a deal off the cover price. you carry everything out in a brown paper bag (which is how I found other guys at work who read)
I got my trusty comic shop reusable bag for my usual shop and take my BCW Stor-Folio for the shops that don’t provide bags and boards so they don’t get damaged on the ride home.
That’s a good idea – I usually just try to be careful with my brown paper bag
Yeah, I actually learned the hard way once. Put my comics on passenger seat which slopes back so they wouldn’t slide so much but one day had to slam on my breaks, few top comics slid right into floor board, top one was no longer NM condition.. totally pissed my day! That’s when I bought a Stor-Folio to use. Plus when it actually rains, comics don’t get wet getting to car either.
The odd thing is my LCS is the biggest one in Elk Grove, CA but they don’t seem to have hardcore collectors or flippers. I grabbed 6 of the Gwen Stacy issue when it came out (leaving 12 on the shelf) and got the variant for $20. About a month after it skyrocketed on ebay I went back to my shop and they still had the 12 copies which I quickly snatched up, no one who worked or went there knew it was going for around 20 bucks a copy.
I wish there was no speculators or collectors in Austin and I had that problem. 😉

It’s not that I pick up a lot of different books, it’s that I pick up multiples of the same book. I am going to start selling soon so that I only have to use PayPal and not my checking account to pay for books 🙂 Love this site and thank you for providing an outlet for our speculation wants/needs!
I use paypal to pay for my books. It is awesome. Havent paid for a comic out of my pocket in over five years. The hobby can pay for itself and them some.

Just curious, all you people that picked up Wytches #2 phantom to flip. Are you getting these at cover price? And I thought the B/W was limited to 500, so how are people able to buy so many copies? I’ve seen people selling lots of 5-10 on eBay already…
It is limited and no i did not pay cover for the black and whites. I have sold all the black and whites i purchased though. I have a good relationship with my local comic shop who allowed me to purchase multiples.
The color phantoms are partially to flip and some for a Snyder signing coming up. Plus, i havr collected every cover for the series. Doing a graded set.

The lots are being flipped by people who have comic shops near them that carry the Phantom Variants.
Kinda figured that people trying to sell the color variant for $10 is either a Phantom store or got them at cover. the lots are selling way cheaper too.

I’ve bee a long-time fan of the first 2 Alien movies. I recently started Dark Horse’s Fire & Stone series of Alien, and Prometheus (written by Chris Roberson, Paul Tobin). Having never read any of the Alien books prior, I was more than pleased. I don’t normally mess with tie-ins, but the story flows well so far, therefore I plan to start Predator, & AVP Fire & Stone in order to know the full story. Some nice Easter eggs for Alien fans too.
I am collecting all of the Fire & Stone books. Then I’m going to grab a beer (or two), sit down and read them all in one fell swoop! Being very patient with this one since Aliens and Predator are two of my all-time favorite characters 🙂

So I know a guy who wants to sell some (or all?) of his collection. None of it is very recent but I would guess the older stuff isn’t more than 20 or maybe 25 years. God prices. I’m a new collector who got interested in it because of walking dead and I don’t really do marvel/dc… I got lucky and bought a run of Batman adventures from this guy earlier in the summer (first appearance of Harley Quinn), but I’m not really sure what to look out for or ask about… I know it’s a super broad question in general, but do you guys have 1 or 2 ideas of something to look for that a rookie might not know?
Try to find out what series he has and we can give you key issues. But in general look for Amazing Spiderman 300 new mutants 98

Yeah, I’d agree. Giving someone specific issues and numbers only gives them a chance to go pull those before selling. Not that you’re out to rip anyone off but if they want to sell as a lot, that’s what they should do. If they don’t, they should research their own comics before trying to sell them.
100% agreed. A lot is a lot. Giving specific issues and numbers will give the person a chance to cherry pick the collection and sell you the rest.
Honestly, you may laugh at me, but I didn’t realize Deadpool wasn’t a series… I know better than to ask for a specific issue… I just don’t know much about Marvel/DC or capes/tights

Are the non-key issues worth much (of Spider-Man, New Mutants, Batman, etc)?
New Mutants:
1-100 first series
1-7 annuals
1 special edition
1-13 second series
12 and 13 third series.
All are bagged and boarded and would say very good condition. He’s still working in Amazing Spider-Man and Superman.
98 is a huge one. Thats first Deadpool. Depending on condition that is a couple hundred alone.
sounds like you need to do some research on this before jump in head over heals and end up with a bunch of crap. I got back into comics a couple of years ago after a looong break and I’m still learning stuff every day. I couldn’t imagine trying to buy a lot of comics two years ago!
For the first lot I bought – I just grabbed all the complete runs I could find, especially names I recognized, so basically a hand-picked box and I paid $10 for it. Low risk and resulted in high reward! It sounds like he’s going to want more like $1 each for the better stuff though…

My greatest find ever. Went to an auction and got Tales of Suspense#50 (first Mandarin), Tales of Suspense #40(2nd Iron Man) and Journey into Mystery #83 (First Thor!!) for the grand total of $1.00 each! Lower grades but my personal best find

Now I’m deciding to either get a CGC Wytches 1 on eBay or a raw NYCC , totally missed out on it last month .. Oh well :p
I had 11 NYCC raws earlier last month. You can always grab a copy and send it to cgc. Have to say be careful and only buy from people with full scans. I saw the books in person and handled some. Some looked a little rough coming right out of the box. On ansidr note a signed cgc 9.8 went for $700
lucky! haha , i think im gonna wait for the right chance to grab a raw copy at a decent price, im trying to get my hands on one of the Thought Bubble variants today ( fingers crossed )

Picked up more comic book supplies yesterday and scored some Infinity War #1-5 all NM condition for $3 each. Just need a really good NM #6 now..
For collecting or for a sale. I think I know where one is. Just have to double check next time I go to my secret spot.
