  1. i voted RQ but honestly, and im surprised to say it bc i was very hesitant to get into the book, Outcast is my favorite book going. I was very much on the fence bc of so much hype, but issue 5 was so palpable and tense and everything just clicked for me all of a sudden. Kirkman’s got plans for this one

  2. Mine is a toss up between Rat Queens and Southern Bastards. I went with Rat Queens though. I love most of these new series but I had to go with the more established comic, some of these just debuted and are too new for me to determine if they are better or not on an overall scale.

    1. Also Manifest Destiny is on that list.. it debuted last November but I’ll consider it as one of the best of the year. This last issue was awesome, more background story covered in a flashback.. oh yeah! 🙂

  3. I went with Wytches, even though I’d love to submit Saga every single year. Rumble #1 has me very interested with how the series continues. If it keeps up as strong as #1 it may bump out Wytches.

  4. If I have to choose a new series and not one of the many awesome ones already out there I’d have to say I really enjoyed Birthrights first issues and I am excited about Deep State. Loved the first issue.

    1. I was on the fence with the first issue of Deep State. I liked it but I wasn’t completely sold. I added it to my pull list to give it a shot. For whatever reason, my local comic shop didn’t get the 2nd issue in so I’m waiting for them to figure that out so I can read it.

  5. That was a tough call enormous was my pick but spread is up there. Rat queens was last year but amazing im surprised god hates astronauts wasnt up there for the new series. Only two that were not my thing were southern bastards and hate ms. Marvel not my book. Outcast and brithright are good titles to.

    1. It was tough for me too. Had to vote twice. I love Spread and done a ton to promote it. Same with Enormous. Done a ton to promote it. Not sure I could pull a Spread variant though. One could always hope though.

  6. It was a toss up for me between United States of Murder Inc and The Fade Out. I officially voted United States of Murder Inc in the other category.

I wish I would have started Southern Bastards. If I don’t get the trade for Christmas I’ll buy it shortly. I’ve really liked Men of Wrath, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy Southern Bastards.

      1. Men of Wrath is a deeply emotional book. Even though I think the ending is obvious I’m really curious to see how it plays out.

I forgot about Nailbiter. That could easily be a number one contender also. I think I tend to forget about it because I picked it up in trade instead of getting it monthly. It’s really really good.

  7. Rat Queens all the way! I am glad to see they made a good choice in changing artists. As a rpgamer, this series really appeals to me.

  8. My pick would have to be spread. To me its one of them books that you wish camed out every week instead of monthly. In every issue it hooks you in where you just want more and more.
