East of West #4 Blank Variant going for double cover price.

Well it does not take long some days, but East of West #4 which featured an variant with a blank cover is already going for 2x what it sold for on the stands today. Collectors snatched these up as quickly as they were put out and they have already sold through at a premium. Copies that were sold at cover price on eBay quickly sold out.

    1. Supply and demand. They were printed at a small ratio and were snatched up quickly. The Walking Dead also did one several months back and also shot up almost instantly. The only other variants for East of West are all at a premium.

  1. Thanks, CF. A friend of mine suggested I pick it up so I did in addition to the reg cover. I just hope it doesn’t become a monthly practice.

  2. I do not understand why there is such a demand for a blank copy? It seems silly to me that we admire our comics for the storyline oh and the art work I guess 🙂 covers and the impact that they have had is huge, some would says icons have been created due to cover art work. For me it is commerce for nothing, people paying more for less. I do understand supply and demand, but you are still paying for less, what will be next, the last page taken out of a book and limiting it to 100 copies, or better yet no cover at all and charge ten times the cover price. In my opinion (for what worth it is) this will only be a fad with no real holding power ten years from now. If you bought it i’d say sell it as fast and for as much as you can while people are out of their minds. Just saying 🙂

    1. The regular cover is still under the blank cover. You are actually getting more for less and not less for more. I have had a bunch of the blanks sketched on and love them. I have a Uncanny Avengers done by the artist from Skull Kickers with their character Shorty on it saying “Thor is a f@$&ing p&$$y” and it is one of my favorite possessions.
