This is one of those “I told you so” moments. We mentioned Cryptozic Man #1 back in October in our 10/19/13 pick of the week. Larry of Larry’s Comics had it as his pick of the week for that week as well, in fact he predicted what would happen.
What has happened is the Cryptozoic Man #1 episode of Comic Book Men aired Sunday night after Walking Dead. This episode features the guys traveling to Baltimore to promote the book. (I had a chance to meet them and it is an interesting story I should share sometime.) And the book has shot up in interest and price. Copies are moving well in the $9.99-$14.99 range and copies of 1 and 2 as a set are going for $40.

I have #1 I got from DCBService. Never read it and didn’t pre-order the other ones. I probably will just keep mine. If anyone is gonna sell do it now because these prices will fall.

this is a total joke. I’m willing to bet that the majority of people bidding on these are the kinds of people who don’t realize that like 20 new #1 books come out EVERY WEEK. hope you guys can capitalize on it, but jesus, this just makes me smack myself
Is it a joke? Sure. The book was ok. But it is getting heat as it is getting exposure. I use books like this to buy books I like. I sold several sets of 1 and 2 for $30 last night. A cgc 9.9 signature series sold for $1100.

No worries I know what you meant and I totally agree. I did however just picked up four more copies at 35% off for flipping. I have been doing really well with them.

Sold 3 sets of #1 & #2 at $29.00 ea on eBay in about 4 hours.
I only picked up #1 because I watch the show and was curious. I didn’t pick up #2, #1 didn’t really attract my attention enough to want to read more beyond it. I do enjoy the show though.
I picked up a few copies. One shop I go to had them buy 1 get two for black Friday. so I picked 5, so that was a total of 15 copies. I sold them $15 a pop. And I stayed with 3 copies for me.

Not to mention The Strain #1! I hit real big with this one. I picked up 10 at the same shop. At cover! My paper looking right about now. Cents makes DOLLARS!!
Covered the strain last week or the week before. Just got three more copies myself yesterday. Flipped them within 12 hours. Still have two copies left

I didn’t even know about the book heating up. I been real busy. But the shops have nice sales going on. I’ll be heading out later to pick up some more Crypto Man #1.
