A little late and light on posts since last Thursday, as an illness has ripped it’s way through the Flipper household, but trying to get back on track. This week is another good week as some really cool books coming out this week. So with that I will jump right into it.
1. Escape From Jesus Island #1- This actually comes out Friday and can only be found at Phantom Variant stores. If you do not live around a shop that is a part of the Phantom Variant Network, you can order it directly at http://larryscomics.net/shop.html or on eBay from Third Eye Comics
2. Locke and Key Alpha #2- The last issue of Joe Hill’s awesome and epic story line.
3. Black Kiss II Christmas Special– Love the concept of Christmas and Howard Chaykin’s delightfully twisted series.
4. Dark Horse Presents #31– Features a Hellboy story, he gets married in Mexico, and a new Mind MGMT story from Matt Kindt.
5. East of West #8– Hickman’s story keeps unfolding. I really see the value of the early issues going up around early next year.
5. Five Ghosts #8– Another series I love, gritty feel to this series. Art and story feel like something out of he pulp past.
6. Illegitimates #1– Fun looking IDW spy story.
7. Midas Flesh #1– Adventure Time writer brings his quirky sense to this new Boom! series under their imprint Boom! Box. Fatima and her space crew have decided to return to Earth-a planet completely sectioned off, abandoned, and covered in gold-to find out exactly what happened to this once thriving planet and see if they can use that knowledge against the evil empire that’s tracking them down. As luck would have it, they just landed the most powerful weapon in the universe: some ancient dead guy’s body
8. Strain: The Fall #6– Love this Guillermo del Toro vampire comic. Yes, based on the books, but has heat from the TV show.
9. Voice in the Dark #2– Larime Taylor’s second issue of the new series. Off to a great start.
10. Zero #4– One of the best best new series out the past couple of months. Spy action, different artists each issue, really a great concept.
Can’t wait for Harley Quinn #1. I’ll be picking up the Adam Hughes variant, looks awesome.
I think Five Ghosts got pushed back, I’m not seeing it on any other site as being released tomorrow, my LCBS didn’t put it on their updated list either.. 🙁
Image website state 1/8 release date for five ghosts. Bummer.
Well that blows. I know the previous issue just came out what feels like two weeks ago. I do love five ghosts and glad you guys are digging it too.
I’ve learned one thing about the Image website when it comes to releases for their comics, the only one that is usually accurate is “The Walking Dead”, all others are pretty much never updated correctly. 😉
Todd the ugliest kid also got moved to 1/1. That’s a great series. I’m looking forward to imagine agents #3.
I still have to read one and two. My read pile has gotten out of hand. Nearly a two foot stack of books I have to read.
I hear that. I have a short box 2/3rds full that I gotta read. LCS had $.50 sale, and other various black Friday buys online!
The store that does the Baltimore Comic Con had an 85% off sale Black Friday weekend. May have caught up on some books I let drop. May have caught up a lot.

Oh I will have to check out their web site for the details. May be broke after Christmas after all.
Did read Todd 1-3 but when prices went up I sold all but one set. May have to go back and revisit that one.
Tis, tis tis Flipper! I’m still holding ALL 8 full sets of my TODD! That’s gonna be killer on the screen (tv or movie)!

Tv. I am almost sure that it will probably end up in Adult Swim. Hope it doesn’t end up on Fox as a lot of their animated shows end up canceled.
My wife just worked on a TV movie they pushed to make a show and there’s one thing she’s learned about TV, TV shows are like restaurants, 90% of new restaurants close within the first year and probably around 90% of TV shows never make it to your television set.
