Nimrod in New X-Movie?

Speculation is saying that the Sentinel on the cover of Empire Magazine is actually Nimrod. Nimrod first appeared in Uncanny X-men #191. NM copies can be easily obtained for $2 or less. (Might be worth picking up a copy or two.
Cinema Blend reported :
For the hardcore fans, a bit of theorizing: this version of the Sentinels seems derived from the model in the comics known as Nimrod. The character, an evolved and indestructible Sentinel, originated in the Days Of Future Past comics, and has similar functions and ability. The creation in the comics develops sentience and is able to control entire computer systems and even teleport from one place to another. The appearance of the new Sentinel is different, but the fluctuating size and skill level certainly seems reminiscent of the Biblically-named baddie.

  1. I just nabbed one for $1.95 that didn’t seem to have any creases in the spine, no tears, sharp corners, white pages, etc. The downside was the seller was in Canada so shipping was like $6 but still a good deal. The other plus is, it’s got a UPC (which in my opinion give it a little more value on these older comics). 🙂

    1. Yea, I grabbed 3 copies from UK sellers for like $10 total.
I’ll check the heat on this comic before I go in too strong.

    2. Ughh.. so my $1.95 pick up stated “no tears, no creases, no discoloration and no folds”… there’s a big fold on the upper right corner on the cover.. sigh!

      1. Sorry to hear that man. My ten were listed as fine condition and unread. In response to a question about the item the seller used the words
–“new” and unread. most are in wrapping but all are from a Bookstore and unread. the binding may vary from issue to issue as happens in printing but ALL issues I’m selling came from a store and has not been circulated. I don’t grade but all are unread and in Excellent condition–
I’m not a professional grader, but they could have been in better shape. I’ll hang on to them. Sorry about your luck; I could send you one of the better copies have if you’d be interested in buying?

      2. He apologized, said the person who setups the auctions uses a template. Since it was only $1.95 but $5.95 shipping (from Canada), not worth the money or effort to ship back for my $1.95 back. I just wanted to make sure the seller pays more attention to his auctions details. I don’t go by just the pictures, I go by their description as well, especially if they don’t use bigger pictures where you can view more details. You have to royally piss me off to get negative feedback though, if this was a $100 comic, then I probably would have left negative feedback and asked for refund.
I found a better copy of #191 at my usual store this morning for $3.50, so all is good! 🙂

      3. Yeah, over a 2 dollar comic isn’t worth my time or effort but yeah, if it was more valuable, I would have gone further. He offered a refund if I wanted but seriously, spending $12 total for shipping from and back to is not worth it to me. I’ll just give it to one of the kiddos to abuse a little more since it’s pretty much worthless now! 😉

  2. Nice one Paul! Roughly $5 a copy…SWEET! Were your books in nice condition? Mine are advertised as VF+ to NM; we’ll see when they come in!
I don’t know much about Nimrod at all, so I’m just spek’n on what CHU has advised! I know the won’t steer me wrong!
    THREAD-JACK:
@Drewbently, I took you up on your challenge to find a ‘good condition’ Final Plague issue.
I found two at a UK online retailer, and they were advertised in NM condition. I bought them for cover price, and waited patiently for them to arrive.
I got them in yesterday, and carefully unwrapped them.
BAM!…not! One issue had two slight (but noticeable) spine stress indents, and the other issue had one, more noticeable spine ding.
So, I don’t know if these imperfections were from the distributor, or from the handling via the secondary source, but I have to agree with you, as far as NOT getting a NM copy of: The Final Plague #1.
@Comicflipper, yea, if you can get nice condition uncanny books for a decent price, that’s always going to be money in the bank. I always troll EBAY looking for nice condition, old uncanny books with 1 or two bids on them, and a few minuets left. I wait and then with like 8 seconds left I put a nice high bid in. If I get outbid, oh well, but if I get the book for a lot less than I bid, then I’m happy.
I need about 12 more books to complete my Uncanny run from 94 -143 (New Team / John Byrne / Dark Phoenix Saga). 95-99 are fairly tough to find at a decent price, and in decent condition.
I personally don’t mess with anything under strict VF+ condition, as I don’t feel there is any re-sale value to lesser condition comics…IMO!

    ..Peace!

    1. Thanks! The lot I won said Fine Condition Unread so we’ll see here too! I’m not a huge flipper, and have probably lost more than I’ve made overall. Still fun to putts around and have fun when I can. I just took a leap of faith with the purchase, maybe we’ll both win eh?!
