Comics Picks of the week for 3/12/14

New comic day is just a few short hours away. Each week hundreds of new books hit the shelves. Each week we pick the books we think have the best shot of being hot. Here are the picks of the week for 3/12/14:
The small press gem:
Stray Bullets Killer #1– David Lapham’s critically acclaimed series starts anew. Lapham has been sharpening his teeth on books like Crossed lately, so I can imagine his crime books have even more bite.
Stray Bullets #41 Lapham finally finishes his classic crime story-line.
The ones everyone will buy anyway:
Manifest Destiny #5– Continues to heat up with each new issue. Great story and art, really compelling book.
East of West #10 Hickman’s epic continues to be a fan favorite. Early issues doing well, but set to spike.
The obligatory Walking Dead issue:
The Walking Dead #123 All Out War continues. Who’s side is Dwight REALLY on?
The two Steve Niles books:
Monsters & Madman #1 Contrary to popular belief, the story of the Frankenstein Monster did not end at the end of Mary Shelley’s famous novel. Now, Steve Niles and Damien Worm have uncovered the shocking fact of the time the Monster met… Jack the Ripper. Read if you dare!
Nosferatu Wars Steve Niles and menton3. Both are fan favorites. Sure this is a one shot, but fans of menton3 love his books.
And Finally,
Returning #1 Fantasy, Horror, and Mystery wrapped up around near death experiences.
That’s it for us this week. Tell us what new books you are spec-ing on.
