The pre-orders for the Manifest Destiny #7 Variant, featuring art by sweet art by Marc Silvestri and Todd McFarlane are up.
The are up but the pre-orders are ending 5/19/14. TFAW has them for $2.39, 20% off cover price. While this will not be an allocated variant, there is a lot of talk on message boards about how hot this book could be. For $2.39 a piece, I am going to pick a couple up. Act fast though, the pre-order expires 5/19/14.

I’ve got 10 ordered and fingers crossed they don’t get allocated. Not a huge window for orders so this could be a hot book if shops miss the boat.
I got three in. I hope.
ordered 3 from TFAW …..sure…..why not !!!!
BTW ……Flash Gordon#1 2nd print coming out this week, might want to pick up a couple of these because i heard about a month ago the the print run was going to be very small,MLCS couldn’t order any for me about 2 weeks ago because none were available.ordered 4 through midtown and tfaw still has them for now.did not buy any 1st prints because i knew the 2nd prints were going to be much more rare !
2nd Prints might be more rare in the technical sense. Most people know that 1st print is the one to get, and hardly ever a 2nd print because worth more than cover.
But what I dont get is you are saying because you passed up the 1st print to wait for the 2nd print, your reasoning it would be more rare. But it would have been much more beneficial to get the 1st print even if it was more copies outstanding than the 2nd print. This is just wrong and bad investing logic. Sorry to be the one to break to you because usually like to keep it cheery and not doom and gloom. it is what it is.
Next time grab the first print. Always and forever. Then if you want a 2nd print because it looks cool or whatever reason that floats your boat. Go for it.
Except, do not INVEST for 2nd print.
I realize now that my post might sound harsh. I wasn’t trying to be I just like to study investment and supply demand type situations. Anyways to make amends how about I post a link im sure you are already aware of, but it is a first print. You should at least get as many as what you thought to get for 2nd print.

Any print after the 1st that becomes valuable is hit or miss, depending on the comic, etc. I don’t seek 2nd prints, the only time I’ll usually pick them up is if I actually missed the first print and or it comes with a new quirky cover like what Sex Criminals did with it’s #1 and it’s gazillion after thought printings..
The way people are talking up the cover, the first variant of the series, I am hoping this will be big. Cover looks awesome.
So that changes everything. I see now it is a sketch of an amazing action scene.
unless you are talking about #7b manifest destiny.
yes 7b
Anybody see the cover preview for #9? It’s very cool.
Everything about this series is cool.. 🙂
That’s for sure!! This series is amazing and it’s one of my top 3 monthly reads.
Anyone have a guess of whats the print run on the variant?
if they are going for a 50:50 ratio then maybe around 5k to 7.5k going of #6 print run.
But probably not much more than 7.5k

Fingers crossed it’s not 50/50 just to keep the numbers down.
Do they ever do print to order on variants? Or is it always 1:5 1:10 fixed type ratios.
7b preorder is now gone from TFAW. I was going to add a couple more. But noticed it’s gone.
Wanted to thank you Tony without your site and your post, I wouldn’t have seen the variant and had the chance to put in my order.
That was a very small window. Can’t wait to see the numbers after they’re printed.
You could order 7b separate from 7a – so it might turn out that 7b is MORE common than 7a – retailers like me ordered heavier on the variant than the regular cover. This is also the case with the upcoming DC bombshell covers – so a bit of a gamble here depending on how much demand there will be.
