People are talking about it so I wanted to give a proper place for comments. Let us know what you thought of the Strain first episode that aired tonight. I watched on DVR later so I stayed away from my computer, iPhone, and iPad.
I really thought it felt like they story boarded right from the comic. It would make sense. I really liked the first episode but will rematch it when my wife has time to sit through it too.

Yeah, I enjoyed it, pretty much sticking to the comic/books for sure.
The dialog was a little wooden but overall a good episode
First episode jitters I hope.
The one thing I was hoping for and may have missed if they did it was mention, “Read the Dark Horse Comic Book”

I don’t think they will mention the comic book. Both the comic and the show are adapted from a novel after all. The novel was mentioned.
Yeah but I was hoping Dark Horse would have capitalized on it. Seems like a missed opportunity to run a commercial.
Time to sell my #1? It’s looking to be in the 50-60 range right now and I’m wondering if it will peak this week while the debut is fresh in everyone’s memory or if this is a long term hold. My fear is this turns in to the next Walking Dead and I sold too early!
How much did you pay for it? If it didn’t break the bank and you got it for retail, then I say gamble and just hold onto it, what do you have to lose? If you need the money, sell now, if you don’t, just wait and see I say.
I was able to pick one up at cover but the rest of my comic addiction is hitting the pocket book so I was looking to make a bit of a deposit in the fund!

i had sold all mine but just in the last 2 weeks I found 2 #1’s so I’m going to gamble a little.
Overall I thought the episode was pretty good. My wife who knows nothing about the Strain said it was alright and that it was graphic but will continue watching. If this can win over a female fan base or the general public then look out.
I’m going to hold all books from the first series right now. Only selling The Fall because I picked them up for $1 each over Memorial Day. I figured now is the time to recover the cost and hold the remaining for next season. Pretty excited The Fall was mentioned in this first episode so fingers crossed we get there.

I think it was like the first issue, slow at first but picks up.
just watched it last night and its a winner! I haven’t read any of the source material, so its nice to come into it blind. I don’t think I’m selling any of my copies. This could be a few year run.
Del Taco said he initial wrote this to be a tv series. And it should span 3-5 seasons.
The last interview/article I read mentioned he’s really planning to span it out over 5 seasons total if it of course, does well and people are watching it.
Yeah i think it depends on popularity because in the end its all about viewers which equal $$$$. He said first novel will span the first season. Then second and third novel will either be 1 or 2 seasons each depending on popularity and if it even makes it that far. giving it the 3 or 5 year span. I like when shows attempt a start and finish, and not just randomly keep making it up as they go along and drag out the profits at expense of story and viewers.
I have not read any of the source material but from what i see on boards, people are going crazy hoping it gets to novel 2 and beyond because i guess shit gets crazy. I had to stop reading the debate thou because I was starting to get too much info, I’ll have to be patient and read it all after the tv show.
Yeah, it gets better, the show should have plenty of action upcoming. I’m now anticipating the 3rd installment of the comics.
