Geeks Unleashed Hot Comics spotlight on SDCC

Joe Edward at Geeks Unleashed does a weekly Comic Spec feature. This week he spotlighted some of the goodies available at SDCC. Here is his list for must pick ups at Comic Con International.
This week it’s a HOT COMICS: Speculation Column Special Edition, highlighting our Top Speculator Picks for San Diego Comic Con 2014! It’s well documented that you can pay for your trip to San Diego by selling the exclusives upon your return to Blighty. Personally I think it’s a disgusting money-grab by a fortunate few, however, my speculator conscious admires the nous of these traders. Here’s my pick of the con exclusives:
The Walking Dead/Manifest Destiny Connecting Cover:
Both of these series are incredibly popular and sell well on the secondary market. Both have avid fans that’ll no doubt pay the big bucks for these in NM/M condition. BUY IT.
A set pre-sold on eBay last week for $50!
Prices will only rise in the post con period.
Disney’s Big Hero 6 Ltd Ed Figure:
Big Hero 6 is going to be huge – speculators are already making CHANGE on back-issues. This figure is available exclusively at the Disney booth at SDCC, with limited quantities available each day! Priced at $30 expect to double your money upon release of the film in November.
Plus it’s cutesy.
This will be the must have figure come Christmas 2014. Put it in your cupboard till then. Thank me now.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century HC::
Alan Moore appearances are like hen’s teeth.
This will be $50 well spent at the Top Shelf Production booth.
This is Moore’s first (and last?) official Comic Con exclusive.
It works out at $10 a signature which is otherwise impossible to get.
Alex Ross Art:
Buy everything at Booth #2419 – these prints are incredible.
I’m particularly fond of the Avengers Classic (pictured right) and the X-Men print.
At $20 each you won’t go wrong.
These are being pre-sold for three times their value.
Buy a set, minimum you’ll double your money.
Afterlife with Archie #666:
You don’t need me to tell you about this one, but I will.
Classic numbering.
Iconic pose.
New series on the way.
Afterlife with Archie #666 is a license to print money, particularly at $5!
This will POP upon release of the all-new Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – who started the Afterlife with Archie with her antics.
Enjoy the con responsibly folks!

  1. Can you walk in with a longbox and buy buy buy? or do they limit you and no longboxes.
