Each week, hundreds of new comics come out, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best chance of heating up.
Another group of awesome books came out that shot up over the past two weeks. Enormous #2 was one of them.
The one with the walking and the dead:
Walking Dead #130– I still think there is a ton of play left in the series. The book was completely redefined with issue #127. Recent issues are selling above cover.
The indy gem of the week:
Southern Dog #1– Small press means low print runs. Gritty new werewolf series: When awkward high school teen Jasper Dixon conceals an injury sustained during a hunting excursion with his family, his infected wolf bite combined with the hormonal changes of puberty triggers a disturbing physical transformation. Now he’s forced to confront his Deep South upbringing and monsters far worse than what he’s become!
The really small press one:
Sanitarium: Figuratively Speaking– The first issue of the horror anthology, based on a movie, sold well and creeped up in price, 2-3x cover price. Second issue will have lower numbers and be harder to find.
That is it for us this week. Don’t forget to check out Larry’s pick of the week. And as always, let us know what you are spec-ing on.

i like that Southern Dogs
Southern Dogs was my pick of the week, but horror is also my fav genre. Pay the extra buck and get the Mehdi Cheggour (of Enormous fame) cover. Classic horror warewolf cover!
Yeah I am a big horror fan. I pick up almost all horror comics.
Southern Dog definitely looks good, I’m also gonna snag a RI of Hexed. Sounds interesting.
Hexed does look good but there were previous issues I have not read.
Is it somehow tied to pretty deadly? Or just same creator.
Nope. It’s a whole other thing. However Emma Rios of Pretty Deadly did the cover. Love her art and she really is a delightful person in person
TWD have two new twins this week?
The hulk #5 Omega Hulk Variant is sick
Picked up 2 Southern Dog variants today and they are awesome.
I was unable to find the variant but picked up the regular Riley Rossmo cover. Was very pleased with the interior art. Unlike Final Plague, which was a great story but had horrible art.

Midtown had Enormous #2 A and #3 A & B up for a few minutes before selling out. That book is crazy hot right now!
I do torn if I should sell copies or not.
Enormous is one book that won’t be cooling off!
I was able to nab some… of course i was checkin every hour since 7am… I checkout and looked again and they were all sold out. I could not believe it!
