Heard several reports from retailers that a case of X-Force #2 was for sale on the com floor, not individually bit as a whole case.
I later heard that the case of X-Force #2 had sold for $2000. This was something the retailers were buzzing about and caused an uptick in prices of X-Force #2
for as much as $30 by Sunday.
Amazing to think someone was unable to move these books for years and then suddenly they get a pile of cash for them.
Will be interesting to see how many 9.8’s hit the market in a few weeks.
Weren’t these speculated to have close to a million produced or was it just #1 that they printed over a million of?
Geez! So now I’m stuck. Sell half my copies now and the rest when the movie comes out or all now. This comic has been going nowhere but UP, any sign this may go down?
it would go down if ebay got flooded with copies – otherwise demand seems pretty constant. Print run will still be very high. I have the print run here somewhere. I will just guess without looking about 600,000
WHOA!. Time to sell.
Just because there is a huge print run, it doesn’t mean that they are all NM. these books languished in back bins and probably got abused.

Honestly I have seen books like this pop up time and again and it’s why I can’t ever get rid of the old stuff. Even from the 90’s.
Best time to sell is when everyone is aware of high prices for X-Force #2. It might be a comic that goes up and down like a rocket? With so many copies printed, how long before prices return to normal?
it is pretty much at its ceiling… BTW how many are in a case? second appearances are mostly a myth… the best valued characters are all old, the recent exceptions are DP and Venom. Go look at the cheap price of an Amazing Spidey 315 (if you assume 300 as the first appearance), it can be had for like $10 and that is cuz it is a McFarlane issue
even with a high print run doesnt mean the prices will stall. New Mutants #98 1st Deadpool keeps going up and everyone knows that book is super common too. Very high print runs for these books. In fact in real high grade the NM98 might be more common than X Force #2 due to the fact that its almost always been a key issue whereas X-Force #2 has NOT value.
The case has 250 copies in it. I was the one that sold it! I had also opened a sealed case about a week earlier .
Brilliant Chris, congrats on the sale. I think it is amazing that 30 years later they were able to sell well. That is the long game for sure but $8 a copy works out to be a nice profit.
