Each week, hundreds of new comics hit the shelves, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the ones we think have the best chance of heating up. Here are out picks of the week:
The ones with the retro feel:
Shaft #1 The classic blacxplotation movie comes to comic form. Could have an audience.
Escape from New York– Snake Plissken is back. This one will appeal to he same crowd that loves Big Trouble in Little China. Has multiple premium variants.
The rare Marvel on on the list:
Angela Asgards Assassin #1– Spawn’s Marvel’s red headed angel is back in her own series.
The small press gem:
Fight Like a Girl #1– This will have a small print run and will be hard to find in NM as are all Action lab books. A young girl fights through several trials to get one wish, to save her terminal brother. reminds me of I Kill Monsters.
The new horror book:
Wolf Moon #1– Vertigo. Cullen Bunn. Werewolves. Sold.
The pick of the week, and this is a strange one:
Crossed +100 #1– This has a couple of things going for it. First, Alan Moore doing a monthly comic, and his name still draws them in. Next, there is a leather variant, which pulls in many cgc 10.0’s. Worth picking up.
The book of the week:
Just the Tips HC– $10 sexy hardcover from the pages of the uber popular Sex Criminals.
Also out this week:
Low #5– Remender’s hit series returns.
Humans #2 Monkey Bikers, nuff said.
Tooth and Claw #2– Has been a hit and has an Alex Ross variant
Men of Wrath #3– Jason Aarons’s crime book is awesome.
Five Ghosts #14 Pure pulpy goodness

I picked up some Just The Tips book.. skimmed some of it, it’s freaking hilarious. Do pick it up if you like dirty sex humor. My wife was even cracking up reading some parts of it.
