Comics picks of the week for delivery 12/10/14

Each week hundreds of new comics hit the stands, each with potential. Some of the comics live up to their potential more than others. We pcik the ones we think have the best shot of heating up.
Well, the year is winding down. There are still some great books coming out. Let’s jump right into it:
The Pick of the Week:
Bitch Planet– Kelly Sue DeConnick has a cult following. Having worked on Pretty Deadly and the uber-popular Captain Marvel books, she appeals to a broad demographic of readers. I always say do not discount the female readers. This is the premiere issue of BITCH PLANET, their highly-anticipated women-in-prison sci-fi exploitation riff. Think Margaret Atwood meets Inglourious Bastards. Also, be on the look out for the “Shelf Variant” with the special logo.
The return of a favorite:
Afterlife With Archie #7 Pepoy Variant– Still love these covers. Yes, the spec on them has dies down. But with talks of an Archie TV show that would have Afterlife With Archie Halloween specials, these could make a come back. Plus this one starts the “Betty RIP” storyline, which cannot be good. Love the classic “naughty” good girl art work on the covers.
The one with the media tie in:
Deep State #2– Sold out first issue and media deal in place. Worth holding on to the early first couple of issues for a little while. There is a variant for the issue as well.
The sold out one:
East of West World One Shot the only book sold out going into Wednesday. This will only appeal to EoW fans but will have information and story details not available in the regular series.
The small press one / outside chance:
Eternal #1– Boom Studios. In a world of clones, the Human Liberation Army wants to free people from New Life’s grasp. Their leader Gail will take the most drastic, personal measures yet to do so. Rathmann, a former homicide detective turned New Life enforcer, is on the case, and is asking tough questions. Violet, a young girl and one of the few nonhumans (Pures, they’re called) left, is longing to enter the real world. But she has no idea the danger she is stepping into.
And Finally,
The one with the Walking Dead:
The Walking Dead #135 Still a lot of life left in this series. New story line with talking dead is fantastic.
Thats it for us this week, let us know what you are spec-ing on.
