Wednesday Open forum

So here we are. Christmas Eve for some. New comic day for everyone else. So, what comic related goodie do you want under the tree this year?

Me. I want more storage. I have comics. Stacks and stacks of comics. I want more drawer boxes under the tree. Put together already preferably. Also, are you hitting the shops today? Give us your new comic pick ups, your back issue grabs, and your dropped series.

Cheers and happy holidays and a happy new comic Wednesday.

  1. Storage boxes, I need storage boxes badly.

Also wouldn’t mind getting that Sideshow Collectables Wonder Woman statue for X-Mas. Hope Santa is listening. lol

      1. That is something I have been struggling with for a long time and could use some elves to help with. I have around 40,000 comics (no lie) in two different locations. In my house I have a comic storage room downs stairs and a recent purchase area in my bedroom (wife hates me) I have 4 short boxes alphabetized in the corner, 12 short boxes somewhat alphabetized in my closet. And stacks of comics in different places. Need to get them all down into one alphabetized collection. And then bring the 40 some long boxes from storage and go through them.

      2. I don’t know how you guys feel about phone apps, but I’ve been using one called CLZ Comics. I basically got to the point where I couldn’t organize anything into anything lol. You can add your collection by title, barcode (if there is one), publisher, etc. Cost me like $5 I think. But it organizes by cover, title, publisher. Let’s you know how many copies you have if its multiple. How much you paid for the book so you know what you’ve already spent. It’s pretty handy.

  3. Merry Christmas Anthony & to all who frequent this Fantastic forum. A Pleasure to visit here each & every day πŸ™‚

  4. My definite pickups today are:

Terminator #12 (Final issue, let’s see how this ends)
Batman β€˜66 #18 (Recently picked these back up)
    Batman Annual #3 (I’mmmm.. Batmannnnnn..)
Garbage Pail Kids #1 (I grew up in the 80s. I was obsessed with GPK, so yeah)
Black Science #11 (One of Remenders best currently)
Merc Sea #8 (Still underrated and the art work is very cool. This should be on Adult Swim late at night as a cartoon)
    Outcast #6 (I’m hanging on.. but I’m not sure how long… )
Rasputin #3 (Few words, the art is telling the story. But I want to see more direction in the storyline and plot.. )
Revival #26 (This should be a show… it reads as if it was with the character building and the switching between the smaller stories within)
Super Dinosaur #23 (OMG my kid is happy about this)
They’re Not Like Us #1 (Bring back Nowhere Men please… )
Magneto #13 (Very good.. read it if you aren’t already)
    New Avengers #28 (Junkie for Avengers… )
Big Trouble China #7 (80s baby, of course I’m going to read this)
Evil Empire #9 (This one always leaves me wanting more at the end, so I’m picking up the next issue)
Letter 44 #13 (Still love this.. I like the politics and Sci Fi mixture, has a good balance)

    1. Some extra pickups:

Rasputin #1 2nd Printing (different cover, likely low print run, I’ll gamble)
Rumble #1 Jamie Mckelvie Cover C Variant (nabbed at cover price)
      Rumble #1 Display Variant
Bee and Puppycat #7 Both Covers (I’m assuming these will be the errors as the distributor would likely not have shipped out the replacements fast enough)

  5. Just one book for me today:
Grindhouse #2. It’s the exciting conlusion of their cheery Christmas story.
I might pick up “They’re Not Like Us” but I dont know. I’m kind of on the fence about it. I doubt I make it to the comic book store today. Family stuff is happening in the afternoon, right when the comic shop opens. I’ll probably have to stop in on Friday.

  6. Spent the day with the extended family so no new comics for me. Doesn’t mean I didn’t text the manager at my LCS with some extra books I wanted him to pull… πŸ™‚

As for Christmas wishes, I wish someone would catalog the 50 long boxes I have sitting in my garage and then find me more physical space to expand my collection. The shelving structure I built this summer is already too small!

      1. I also have 10 short boxes in my office. It’s a horrible, horrible disease, lol. I feel like a comic hoarder sometimes.

        1. I recently sent pics of my bedroom to a friend while i was sorting recent pick ups. Four short boxes in the corner with stacks on top. 12 shorts in the closet at least. Stacks of comics on my night stand. That is before my comic room in the basement and the comics i have in storage. How my wife deals with me i will never know. My kids know not to touch daddy’s comics though.
