I might pick up some S.H.I.E.L.D. variants if available, other than that, would of been a really small week for me except Image had to release like 9 different covers for East of West and since I love East of West I just feel obligated to pick up every cover. Sigh!
I don’t do New Year Resolutions but I do plan on selling more. 🙂
Two shops did not have the East of West connecting variant covers. Grab’em if you can, these might of been overlooked by most shops. My usual shop said he didn’t hear about them until yesterday and when he ordered them, only had the regular cover listed.
I might be doing the Miracleman Annual and Shield. I have some in my sub from prior weeks that I can catch up on. Did score an EoSV 2 (1st print) yesterday for $0.99.
As for the new year, I need to get better organized knowing what I have. I’ll either put it in a spreadsheet or in Collectorz. I might even send a book or two in for grading (my first!)

I went bin diving at a book store in Eastern NM. Also picked up Flash Annual 2 (cover price), Rumble – floor variant (cover price), Batman Incorporated 8 (1.99), Black Science 1 (1.99), Batman Dark Knight 23.4 (Joker’s Daughter 3D – 2.99) and two copies of Batman and Red Robin 19 for 2.99 each. All-in-all my best low-budget haul in a while.
I resolve to NOT get sucked into the post NYCC Image variant hype in 2015 like I did with Wytches, and Bedlam a couple year ago. Old habits die hard.
My goal this year is to get at least 50 books slabbed onsite at Wizardworld in May. Been putting alot of high grade semi-key bronze & copper books aside the last 8 months that should pay off like 1st Machine Man, 1st Black Goliath, 1st Capt Universe, 1st Tigra etc
I made out well with Wytches. Had 11 cooies of the NYCC variant and sold 10 by the end of the show for as high as $225.
Picking up keys and first appearances is never a bad idea
I’m thinking about dropping -about everything and buying mostly TPB’s – got several for Christmas and they are nice for reading…
Yeah. I go to books a million and pick up hardcovers for under $5. They put a lot of stuff on clearance from time to time. I still need monthlies though. I just prefer the format. I can’t wait on certain books like The Walking Dead to be collected.

Yeah, same here except the best local place is Half Price Books for me, usually find TPB for $2-$5 most of the time.
I pick up comics for several reasons which is a) I can’t wait 6 issues or 6 months to binge read in a TPB, b) I’m not sure I’m gonna keep reading it, c) I also collect and d) I might be buying to flip it.
But I do like to read more in one sitting if I can.
I started out buying TWD before I had finished reading the first compendium. Over a year and half a box later, I still haven’t finished the 2nd compendium (I read ahead of the show a little bit, but then stopped – will probably pick it back up again after this season of the show ends), so I have the latest 30 or so monthlies but have never read one of TWD… in fact I just got All Out War and the next TPB after that for Christmas – probably much more likely to read that version. Maybe if/when I get caught up, I’ll read the monthly WD b/c I’ll probably still buy it even if I stop buying most others. This site really got me hyped on collecting and selling, but the problem is, I’ve never sold any lol. In no time at all, I have like 4 boxes sitting in our spare bedroom and I just don’t have the room to keep adding to it… my wife might literally kill me lol. I’m sure I’ll still buy some, but I have to cut back… I don’t have time to read them all, don’t have room to store them all and my weekly bill was more than I cared to be spending… UNLESS I can start flipping, then maybe I’ll change my tune. To me it seems like it’s a lot harder to package a comic and ship it for less money than it is to stuff a vintage video game in bubble envelope and drop it in the mailbox…
That is true about how easy it is to stuff a video game into a bubble mailer. I purchased a ton of blu-Rays on Black Friday cheap to sell and finally got around to doing it. So easy to do and have been moving them like crazy.

I’ve been selling the hell out of some DVD’s post Christmas… I just go to Sam’s Club and buy a box of 25 Size 0 envelopes for $5 and go through them like water this time of year. Packaging the comics seems like it would be more time consuming and make me nervous… we’ll see what 2015 brings… Happy New Year!
i was able to pre order the star wars master set 1:500 today with 20% off!!! at newbury comics , also got the Alex Ross variant , does anyone know what the retail/cover price is for the 1:500 master set i forgot to ask.
I managed to snag 3 x SHIELD Cover L Incentive Mike Deodato Jr Variant. Seems a little harder to get than the others. Did grab one Color Deadpool cover, no Sketch variants found. Also it seems they corrected the little mishap on the chalkboard behind him, at least on the covers I saw.
I spoke too soon, the teaspoon… mishap is on the cover of the one I got.
Yeah, I saw it in the store, uncorrected.
I could find no Abigail and the Snowman virgin variants either.. not many listed on eBay, they’re going quick!
