Here is one that will be tough to play, Scott McCloud’s The Sculptor has been optioned by Sony for a movie deal. CThe Hollywood Reporter had the exclusive.
The Hollywood Reporter noted earlier this evening that Scott’ McCloud’s The Sculptor had been optioned for a movie. This one is a hard play because it is based off McCloud’s new Graphic Novel, and normally when sites say that they mean comics, but nope, this is based on the graphic novel.
Coming out on top of a competitive situation, Sony has picked up the rights to The Sculptor, the new and well-received graphic novel from Scott McCloud, for an adaptation to be produced by Scott Rudin.

Josh Bratman, who has worked on such films such as Captain Philips and the Fright Night remake, will also produce.
McCloud is known for his Eisner and Harvey Awards-winning works such as 1993’s Understanding Comics and Making Comics that examine the comics medium. He also created the teen sci-fi comic Zot! in the 1980s.
The Sculptor came out February third and is about an artist, destitute and living on the streets, who makes a deal with Death: the power to create with his hands, but after 200 days, his time on Earth is up. Art begins to flow from his hands but complications ensue when he meets the girl of his dreams.
