Deadline reported last night that Kim Coates, who just finished up playing Tig Trager on Sons of Anarchy, will play the title role in the movie adaptation of Officer Downe.

Kim officer-downe__130715182809-200x307Coates has been tapped to play the title character in Officer Downe, an indie adaptation of the Image Comics graphic novel by Joe Casey. Slipknot co-founder M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan is making his feature directing debut with the pic about an LA supercop routinely killed in the line of duty who is resurrected and sent back out into the fray time after time. Casey (Ultimate Spider-Man, Ben 10: Omniverse) wrote the script, with Mark Neveldine and Skip Williamson producing.
