Mark Millar hints at Nemesis news

I have caught flack off an on for saying I am off Millar books. The reason has always been delays and over priced last issues with a few more pages. But the man does know how to sell books and movies. One that he mentioned a log time ago is suddenly getting more interest after he mentioned on Facebook, Nemesis.
According to Comicbook.com Millar posted the following on his Facebook page: “Oh, listen. You know that Nemesis movie? Some big news over coming week…”
They go on:

What could it be? Has 20th Century Fox finally given it the green light? Maybe. Remember, last month Millar said a Nemesis movie hinged on how successful Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service did, and this past week it went over the $100M benchmark at the domestic box office. Coincidence? I think not.

Granted Secret Service didn’t do as well on the secondary market, possibly due to the name change to Kingsman, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to scoop up copies of Nemesis if you find them cheap.

  1. My favorite Millar series by a mile, this is amazing news! Thanx for the heads up, I just snagged 4 copies of the #1 DF variant on ebay cheap while everyone else is watching Walking Dead

  2. Millar is very hit or miss for his movies with me. I loved wanted the comic hated the movie. The kickass movie were ok. Tried starlight and Jupiter’s legacy it was meh. I would have kept reading Jupiter’s legacy but dropped it because of delays.

    1. I actually enjoyed Starlight, probably since he was able to get the whole series out in a reasonable amount of time.
Jupiter’s Legacy would be really good but yeah, 5 books in 1 1/2 years?
Other than that, I’m not buying his new stuff anymore. I’ll wait when I can find it in the dollar bin or the TPB at half price for a few bucks to read.

  3. Say now do you know if its worth ivesting in the DF variants? I have a deadpool vs carnage signed by Colun Bunn but the book camed with a bad spine damaged and they refused to change it for me cuz it was signed and limited. Anyways there is a death of deadpool variant (deadpool #45) that is coming out signed by co creator Fabian Nicieza and I don’t know if to get it or not. Any suggestions?

  4. Picked up some of the DF variants and the 1 in 25 variants for either cheap to relatively cheap. I Will definitely keep a set for myself but wondering if/when news is released about a movie (possibly this week) if the others I purchased should be kept until the movie hits or would they be best as a quick turn around sale.

  5. @ Jesus. Variants can go either way just like anything else. With something like this, if Nemesis is going to be produced as a film people will most likely want a piece of the first appearance leading up to the movie and maybe beyond if it turns out to be a good film with possible squeals. Collectors also like limited versions of hot items. With the DF versions printed at roughly 6500 you can’t go wrong if you can get it between $10 and $15 dollars. The cheaper ones look to be gone now but there are still some out there at a good price for the time being. If this news spreads or there is an official announcement of a movie all versions at good prices will probably disappear fast. As far as the DF version of Deadpool? If you like it by all means get it. It is Deadpool…and a variant… and signed. Not sure if it will ever become a key issue but there is enough going for it to where you probably won’t lose money down the stretch, unless they are asking a ridiculous amount right off the bat.. I’ve also gotten some damaged items from DF in the past. Not too often, but they never seem to address it very well. I only purchase from them rarely these days.
