Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje to play Killer Croc in Suicide Squad

Comicbook.com has run a piece stating Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, actor in Lost, Oz, Thor the Dark World, and upcoming Game of Thrones, will play Killer Croc in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.

Killer Croc first appeared in the classic Batman #357
Also look for Batman #358 (First full appearance) and Detective Comics #523 (which predates Batman 357 by a month or so but #357 seems to be the prevailing first appearance.) (Thanks to Kyle for the update.)

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will reprotedly play Killer Croc in Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad movie.

The casting news comes from the Wrap, who says that neither Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s representatives nor Warner Bros would comment.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje is best known for his role as Mr. Eko on ABC’s Lost, and appeared on HBO’s Oz before that. He also played the villainous brute Kurse in Thor: The Dark World, and will play Malko in the fifth season of Game of Thrones.

Suicide Squad is directed by David Ayer. The film also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo and Jared Leto as The Joker.

  1. What about Detective Comics #523? It came out before Batman #357. I think Killer Croc’s first appearance is as problematic as Mystique, Venom, Darkseid, et al.. Batman #357 just shows Croc in a trench coat and Fedora (a couple of panels), but you never get a glimpse of what he really is until #358. I would put my money on #358 if you want Croc, but #357 has the 1st Jason Todd.

    1. CGC labels 357 as the first full Todd and Croc. I’m pretty sure the market will stick with 357 but I agree 358 is also a key book.

      1. No credit necessary we are all in this together. I enjoy your posts and the forum.
