Kingsman: Secret Service 2 in the works

Thanks to The Wrap for this one:
Kingsman: Secret Service 2 is in the works at Fox. Would imagine a sequel to the comic book will probably be coming before then (maybe.)

A sequel to the surprise blockbuster “Kingsman: The Secret Service” is in the works at Fox.
There was no announcement by the studio or a timetable, but there will be a followup to the R-rated comic book adaptation directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth, individuals with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
It makes sense. The London-set “Kingsman: The Secret Service” crossed the $400 million mark at the global box office this weekend. It generated most of that — about $275 million — from abroad.
It became clear Fox had a hit on its hands when it opened to $41 million against “Fifty Shades of Grey” over the Presidents Day holiday weekend in the U.S.

Take that 50 Shades of Grey.

  1. I would be curious to hear if anyone was able to make any spec $ off this last Kingsman movie? When all was said & done I think I pretty much broke even.

  2. What is the deal with Mark Millar books not being seen as desirable? There are some decent stories in those books but no demand. What’s up with that?

    1. The problem with Millar books is the lateness. He will start a series and there can be huge month gaps in between issues. Also, he jacks up the final books cost. Sometimes double the rest of the issues.
The collectors side of it is Mark Millar is a huge named talent. His books get heavily ordered which means they are commonly available. Demand plus supply equals price increase. Lack of demand = no price increase. Demand is there but so is supply = no price increase.
