On a weekend where Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Age of Ultron” opened to predictably massive box office numbers, writer/director David Ayer made sure that Warner Bros.’ DC Comics-based films were a part of the conversation. On Sunday afternoon, Aver released a “Suicide Squad” team photo on Twitter, featuring what appears to be the complete Task Force X, with nine members in full costume — including Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara in what looks to be a very comics-faithful depiction of Katana (a character not previously confirmed as part of the film) and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag. The image also includes actor Adam Beach in an unknown role on the far left, and what appears to be Jay Hernandez as El Diablo on the far right. The background reads “Welcome to Belle Reve,” a reference to Belle Reve Penitentiary — the DC Comics prison introduced in 1987’s “Suicide Squad” #1 by John Ostrander and Luke McDonnell.
The interesting thing above is the surprise appearance of Katana. This hadn’t leaked before. She is also appearing in the TV show Arrow so it might be a good idea to scoop up her first appearance in Brave and the Bold #200. Her current costume, that the movie version is modeled after, first appears in the easy to pick up Katana #1. You can also find the Katana #1 1:25 Variant starting at $2.99 on eBay. Mycomicshop also has copies cheap, under $1.50 for the regular and under $6 for the variant
