Comics Picks of the Week for delivery 5/27/15

Each week hundreds of new books hit the shelves, each with potential. Some live up to that potential. We pick the books we think have the best shot of heating up. Here is our picks of the week for delivery 5/27/15:

The random Marvel on the list
Old Man Logan #1– Rarely do Big Two books make it on the list, but when they do, there is a good reason. Rumor has it Old Man Logan will be the new Wolverine in the Marvel U. Plus, the original story is such a classic. I can’t wait to get back into Old Man Logan’s world.
Look, New Alan Moore
Providence #1– Few creators have rabid followers like Alan Moore does. Throw in the HP Lovecraft fans and you have a possible hit on your hands. Yes, I know it is Avatar and will have 100 variants, plus a ton of reprints not labeled as reprints (they just keep releasing variants), but this one has the making of a hit.
The Small Press Gem
Captain Canuck 2015 #1– Already a little buzz on this one. Canada’s super hero returns in a new series.
The new Image Ones
Sons of the Devil #1
Material #1 – I am in for both of these. I cannot pass up a new Image book.
The Pick of the Week
Fight Club 2 #1– No movie had made sense to me, going to college getting a job, looking for a wife, the way Fight Club did. It spoke to me and many guys my age. Chuck Palahniuk is doing the sequel in comic form. It is a must pick up. There are several variants, and it is a mini-series, but still, worth the pick up. My favorite variant is Fight Club 2 #1 Phantom Variant by Paul Pope, just because I love Paul pope’s work and he has a strong indie following.
