Updated progress of Chrononauts and Starlight movies

Mark this one as NSFP (Not safe for Poyo)
Hopefully the books will see an uptick in prices based on more movie news.
Joblo had the exclusive on this one.
Mark Millar updates the status of Chrononauts and Starlight:

When asked what the next two properties hitting the screen would be, Millar remaked:

The next two that I think will be moving forward pretty quickly are Starlight and Chrononauts, I think they’ll probably be made at the same time as Kingsman 2, if not even before. I think Starlight’s screenplay is finished now, it was written by Gary Whitta, he finished the screenplay a couple of weeks back and we’re just moving forward now looking for a director. Chrononauts, there’s one of the actors already and we’re just looking for the second guy. Those two I think are the most likely to be the next two out, and then we should have another three ready to roll next year as well.

Copies of Chrononauts and Starlight can be found for below cover. I am fond of the Starlight CBLDF Variant which can be found for less than $10 including this one for $5.99.
Chrononauts can also be found for less than cover price.

  1. Haha.. I actually picked up Starlight, it was before the total boycott of Millar.. and quite frankly, I think Millar is an excellent writer, I just hate his release timeline of most of his books. He should just stop writing comics (at least the one he can’t ever finish) and stick mainly to just writing scripts for movies directly.

    1. Yeah, Starlight really was exceptional, save for allowing Rob Liefeld to do covers (why does anyone employ that man?), it was everything I look for in a self-contained mini. I’m actually really excited to see how the film turns out. I remember even as I read it thinking how well it would translate to a more dynamic and fluid medium.

  2. Yeah I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t really care if these books turn into movies or shows. I mean like Poyo said he is a good writer. I guess just not for me.I also got starlight and didn’t get my attention to keep reading. Maybe not by type of tea you know. Oh well we’ll see if they actually make it good.

    1. Secret Service was one of his series that ended up just total crap I thought as a comic but the movie was better.
Starlight was good, I liked it and enjoyed it. It reminded me of that old school 50s or 60s type of hero movie.
I liked Jupiters Legacy but ughh.. 5 issues in 2 years.. unacceptable. Now he has Jupiters Circle…. I didn’t even bother with it.
Chrononauts looks good but I’m just waiting on the TPB, probably from Half Price..
I also think people aren’t budging on his optioned comics and movie deals anymore. Everyone knows he’s just writing books to turn into movies, so it’s just expected so there’s really no hype or big jump in prices for the books either.
